"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

hoppy and tasty the way a good pale ale should be...sweet at first and then results in a bitter hint after you’ve put the glass down...good, clean aroma...worth a shot if you like pale ales...

Pours a pretty blaze orange color. Aromas of grapefruit, citrus, and small amount of pine comes through. Hop flavors of grapefruit and citrus burst on the palate. Not much malt balance, which is great for hopheads. Love this intense hop forward brew!!!!

Pours a deep dark orangish amber color. Aromas of big hop action, sweet malts, and more hops. Flavor has some bready maltsy tastes with nice grapefruit and floral hop taste. This is one hoppy sumbitch. These guys sure know what they are doing.

1 pint 6 fl oz bottle from Brewdog online store. Deep orange amber colour, white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of tropical fruit, mango, citrus, hoppy. Taste is malt, caramel, sweet, floral fruity, mango, grapefruit & pine, resiny hop, and tangy earthy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry warm boozy bitter finish. Nicely drinkable IIPA.

Tap in San Francisco. Gold with white head. Resin hop and sweet. A sweeter and high alcohol taste than their other ipas. Good citrus notes. Otherwise just a really solid imperial ipa.

Poured deep clear orange with great foamy pale white head with good retention. Large bubbles made way for some of the woodiest pine and zesty grapefruit I’ve ever smelled on this style beer... Slightly phenolic with a hint of ethanol fumes. Never had this hop variety but damm. Mouthfeel is is a bit tannic but far from sharp. This is a refined IPA very balanced and very smooth with a extra dry finish. I loved there passion fruit kicker and now after 2 home runs Im a fan.

For some reason, I took a real liking to Green Flash’s Imperial IPA. I believe the ludicrous amount of hops may have had something to do with it. Pour is orange and not too hazy. Long-lasting head - slightly rocky. Floral and tropical on the nose. Flavor notes of earth, nectar, pine, grapefruit, orange, and peach. A chewy resinous feel with lots of crispness and bitterness. There’s just enough malt in the background to keep this ale in line. Yes, it’s brisk and boozy, but also quite easy to enjoy.
