COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. Itís all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

Bottle. 11th Feb 2012. Pours clear orange yellow with average head and good lace. Big heavy hop aromas of citrus, grapefruit, orange, light tropical fruits, resin, grass, herbs and a good caramel malt character. Light medium body, rather bitter with a thin finish, lingering heavily bitter and lightly sweet.

I wasnít an IPA guy until recently but this is outstanding. Some try too hard and over hop but the aroma and balance in this San Diego blend is a new bench mark for me.

Bottle to plastic cup (Iíll try not to let that affect my rating). Aroma of grapefruit, something akin to malt, but perhaps a bit fruitier, cherry, spruce, and peach. Clear light amber with a long lasting thin, creamy, off white head. Taste is very tropical fruity, with pepper, grapefruit, some red pepper, a touch of chili, and a whole whack of bitterness. All that fruitiness balances the huge hoppiness quite well.

Bottle; orange with small beige head; aroma-grapefruit, pine, pepper; taste- mild sweetness, heavy bitterness, full body. Not their best but very good

Bomber pours a hazy golden orange with one-fingr white head and some lacing. Aroma it that of the usual suspects for a DIPA: lots of grapefruit and pine resin, Taste is bitter with lots of caramel sweetness in the middle, and definite dankness in the finish, at least until it warms up a while. Body is full, with a sticky mouthfeel. This one exceeded my expectations.

Bottle at keg 229 NYC. Pours a tan brown color with a light look but the taste is extremely hoppy and potent. Wouldn't say it's well balanced but for hop lovers

I mean, come on! I know I can count on Green Flash for a hoppy, bitter, delicious IPA, double or not. This Imperial IPA pours a dark golden amber color; it has a one-finger head and has nice lacing and alcohol legs. Aroma is grapefruit, orange zest, onion and garlic, dankness. Taste follows the nose nicely. It reminds me a lot of Enjoy by 4/20/14. Super dank, very bitter and dry, full bodied beast. Very good IIPA when fresh, like this one is.
