COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Le Freak is a modern ale created by converging two beer styles, Belgian Trippel and American Imperial IPA. The use of two yeast strains further marries the styles and American hops give the beer its modern flare.

Draught at Breukelen bier merchants. Hazy golden with great head and lace. Aroma and flavors of orange and yeasty fruity esters along fresh grain (wheat?). Taste is lightly sweat then cleanly bitter with a dry long finish. Body has as velvety soft and alive Belgian character. Very refreshing.

Golden color with a medium size foam. Mix between an IPA and a Tripel. Sweet and hoppy, a little too sharp in taste.

Lemony yellow/amber. Tight, big white head with plenty of lacing. Citrusy, yeasty aroma. Lemony malt. Fruity, malty taste. Slight hop flavor, but mostly malt. Sweet, smooth fruity malt aftertaste. Very nice.

22oz bottle poured into tulip glass. Aroma: Belgian yeast, coriander, cloves, oranges, hay, lemongrass. Hint of metallic smell. Appearance: Golden orange color with 3 fingers of frothy offwhite head that faded slowly and lingered to the end of the glass. Laces glass incredibly well. Clear pour. Taste: medium sweet, mild bitter Palate: finish is medium bitter. lively carbonation. light body and creamy texture. alcohol comes through a bit here but not bad for 9.2%. Overall: This definitely has a Belgian flavor to it. Not as hoppy as i was expecting but I also don’t know the bottled on date for this. Maybe a bit more bitter than I would normally like but it isnt too overpowering. Probably wont buy this again but glad to have tried it.

Orangeish amber in color, hazy with a thin head. Good Belgian yeast and fruity aroma. There is a good amount of hops that bring out a floral aroma and flavor. This was a very good brew.

Bottle to glass at Joe and Maria’s in Norwood. Bright citrus aroma with nice citrus. A little bit of white grape. Lots of funk. Loved this aroma. Gold amber pour with large white head. Moderate carbonation and body. Will definitely drink this again.

Tap at Whole Foods Schaumburg. Dried apricot color with an egg shell colored head, excellent lacing. White wine, nutmeg, and faint cinnamon nose. Taste is quite hoppy for the style. First flavor is Belgian yeast then sweet malt. Resinous hops come forward just after the yeast makes an introduction and then the hop oils remain prominent. It seems extremely unbalanced, dare I say "freakish"?

Draught at Q-Brick. Clear golden with an amber tint and a nice fine head. Nose is Spicy Belgian yeast, biscuity malt, citrus-orange, grass. Sweet and fruit with orange, honey, and big grassy bitterness. refreshing and drinkable, hiding its alcohol well. Good stuff.
