Pawola22 (676), Kansas City, Missouri, USA May 24, 2009 On tap at the brewery in Vista. Pours a hazy, darker orange body with a bigger, foamy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves some soapy lacing. Definitely smells more like their IPA, but has some nice subtle Belgian characteristics. Sweet and sugary citrus and a nice floral perfume. Some barnyard spices and a sweet Belgian fruitiness. Similar flavor. Semi-resiny citrus, floral, and a sweet, but spicy Belgian yeast. Finishes dry with a lingering citrus and malt. Palate is light to medium bodied and crisper than the IPA. Overall, not bad. A nice change of pace from their IPA, but I think I prefer the IPA to this. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA May 18, 2009 Cloudy orange appearance with a good sized white head. Aroma is of citrus, coriander, yeast and floral. Taste is of hops, coriander, orange peel, lemon and perfume. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA May 17, 2009 Bottle courtesy of MaltDawg from Whole Foods - Fair Lakes on 05/17/2009. Hazy amber body with a medium foamy off-white head. Sweet floral and citrus hop aroma with some light belgian character in the background. Sweet fruity floral and citrus hop flavor with some belgian spice and candi sugar. Medium body with moderately high carbonation. AskForJenny (627), Ontario, New York, USA May 15, 2009 The tripel balanced out the bitterness. Smelled more like the IPA, looked more like the tripel. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA May 14, 2009 22 oz’er. Nothing like killin’ a Thursday afternoon with a big ol’ beer like this. Bronze and active, this tops out with a nice creamy top. The aroma is somewhat restrained, with just a hint of farmhousey yeastiness and a little floral sweetness. But this drinks with a big chewy essence, thick with resin and Belgiany wild yeast kick. I’m not sure if I like the marriage of the two components, but I don’t care because I’m kickin’ back on a nice day off. (Rating #2394) WinoInTraining (104), Longmont, Colorado, USA May 13, 2009 Interesting beer. Deep Orange, opaque. Rich creamy head. Heavy lacing
Bright, rich, lots of weighty malty goodness. Finish, drops off, leaving a pleasing bitter edge, pithy. Reminds me of orange zest, with a bit of rind thrown in. Mouthcoating, but refreshing. Or better yet, Chanterelle mushrooms. Definately a food beer. travita (1861), Frisco, Texas, USA May 11, 2009 The look is an orange color, cannot see through, and has a light white lacy head. Interesting. The smell is sweet, fruits, banana, alcohol, hops, and yeast. The taste is alcohol, yeast, fruits, and hops.
