May 3, 2009 Butters cellar blowout tasting. Its like a wheat IPA. Blend of yeasty fruit with citrus. Shows just the right amount of Belgian Triple and IPA. Just enough funk just enough yeast. Like this beer a lot.

May 3, 2009 Updated: May 17, 2009Butters Big Blowout - Pours a cloudy orange with small white head. Aroma of yeast, citrus, lemon zest and hops. Similar taste, although spicy. Yeast and hops really shines through on the finish. Very resiny brew.

May 3, 2009 what a ridiculous beer...love the mellow hops in the imperial pale combined with the spice of the belgian trippel. superb balance and much better than the famed Cali-Belgie from stone. love it!

May 2, 2009 Hazy orange-brown pour with a thin light tan head. Strong yeasty aroma with spicy cloves and banana. Spicy, yeasty flavor. Hints of banana, cardamom. Very bitter.

Apr 29, 2009 My experience with Green Flash has been good so far, but I was still kind of sceptic of their ability to do what they claim on the tin. Bottle. Whatever. This, I thought, will be 90% American IPA, with a token pinch of Belgian character. Pleasantly wrong assumption! Lovely spicy nose, rosemary, dandelion, honey. Rather hoppy, but the hops blend seamlessly with the yeast character and the contribution each make is difficult to parse. Sweet hay flavor. Not actually sweet I suppose, as it seems overall like a very well attenuated beer. But there is something here of the sweetness of fresh cut alfalfa. Light clean malt and a nice chewy herbal finish. Feel like a bigger cousin of De Rankin XX Bitter, and that is a happy thing. I dig.

Apr 29, 2009 The first taste felt really sweet, but everything after that was just marvelous. I thoroughly enjoyed this beer. Aroma is sweet and yeasty, and the flavor is nice and hoppy with a lot of pleasant belgian yeastiness. This does a nice job of balancing belgian trippel and ipa without letting either one really take over.

Apr 26, 2009 Pour a very nice golden orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma of grass and hint of citrus. Nice hoppy bitterness followed by a little sweetness. Lively carbonation and a nice smooth mouthfeel

Apr 26, 2009 More a "Belgiany" IPA than an "IPAish" Tripel. But a winning combination, either way. Refreshingly novel and pretty damned tasty. Great for those nights when you can’t decide between an IPA and a Belgian.
