5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
first things first: proper pouring procedure needs to be observed in order to obtain the correct sampling of this kind of style. you need to get to the cloudy part with all the yeasty stuff. upon the heels of green flash’s "palate wrecker" i summarize the situation thus: if green flash brewing simply ends its production of "palate wrecker" and devotes the currently-displaced ingredients and efforts to this here offering instead, that would be a major win, the decline in diversity of offerings notwithstanding. that is what the love of wisdom dictates.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle to tulip. Subdued citrus and cracker with a belgian funk yeast solidly in support. Hazy orange with head that leaves quickly to leave nothing. Taste is complex mixture of fruit and Belgian yeast with dry finish.

Ever notice how the quietest people are often the kinkiest? Yeah? Keep that in mind as we talk about Le Freak, a beer that has a golden body, a clean white head, and a soft, sweet malty smell. To the nose and to the eye, everything about Le Freak says, "I’ll go down smooth and easy. I’ll be gentle." Lies. Damned lies. Damned delicious lies. This ale catches you off guard in the best possible way. The hops give you a lot of bitter orange peel flavors without totally kicking your ass. Finish is crisp, carbonation is just right. This is a beer that wants to make love to you. It even wants to cuddle. But it wants to do those things AFTER it forces you to be submissive to its hoppy will. All of my inappropriateness aside, this another excellent hop bomb from Green Flash.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A- Biscuits, slightly sweet, malts, citrus, hoppy.
A- Amber orange color, cloudy liquid, white head.
T- Slight citrus, hoppy, bitter, caramel, biscuits, slightly sweet.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish.
O- As with most Green Flash beers I have had, this one is no exception. The nose is sweet, malty, and lighter smelling, then you take a sip and there is no hiding the hops on the palate. Balanced well and a good beer, but more resembling an IPA to me.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Not overly fragrant but a pleasant floral nose. Color is more carmel compared to many orange and yellow colors in many IPA’s. The taste is very earthy and pleasant but not overpowering for this drinker. A very balanced beer.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
pours hazy almost cloudy golden orange with a nice off-white light beige cap, some retention and lacing. oranges - some peel, caramel and sweet breadied and honeyed malts, light toffee, resin and many coniferous notes, perfumey and fragrant, mint, pepper and tingling booze, very few phenols and spices, shy belgian yeast. light carbonation, medium body - oily and almost full - heavy stuff, controlled level of sugars for its abv, warming and semi-sweet grassy-spicy-piney finish. interesting offering but kind of fails GF’s standards.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 oz bottle from Uptown Market in Beaverton, OR. Aroma is fruity and floral, with hints of clove and menthol cough drops (likely from the combination of the Belgian yeast and the American Pacific NW hops). Mouthfeel is crisp, with a long pleasant bitterness. Taste has the perfect balance between malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness. Masks the alcohol very well. Fantastic beer!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Great easy drinking beer! Somewhat floral nose. This beer drinks great. A bit of a punch at first on the tip of the tongue, but fairly well balanced. I didn’t get that overpowered Belgium yeast that is sometimes left lingering in the mouth.
