Wasatch (270), Layton, Utah, USA Dec 4, 2008 Poured into a tulip a very nice golden orange/yellow color, nice carbonation, very nice one-finger creamy white head, with lots of nice thick creamy sticky lacing and some small islands. The nose is malty, with some yeast, corinader, pepper. The taste is very nice, malty/yeasty, with a very nice spice note. Medium body. Very drinkable, this is an awesome brew, glad to have had a chance to try it out, thanks Joe.
Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Dec 4, 2008 Bomber from Sam-apostrophe-s in Downers Grove, IL. This pours a deep golden body with a big pillowy head and thick lace. The aroma is a sweet pale malt nearly buried by citrusy hop aroma of tart oranges, lemon zest, and yellow grapefruit pulp. The flavor sees the addition of a white pepper spiciness, but it is mainly about the strong citric bitterness that increases as the drinking continues. The finish is bitter and dry. Nice, but a tad more harsh than others that have been done in this style lately. mgermani (862), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Dec 4, 2008 Pours a slightly hazy pale golden-orange with a thin but lasting head and some minimal lacing. Aroma is fresh hops and fruity sweet cantaloupe. Tastes fantastic - bitter and sweet all at once, sweet mandarin oranges, candied peel and crystalized ginger. Warming pleasant alcohol, creamy and coating body, great carbonation. I cannot fault this beer, a fantastic late-fall treat! Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Dec 3, 2008 Pours hazy deep gold with copper edges and white head. The aroma is banana and cloves to go along with lemon citrus hop notes. The taste seems smooth, oddly enough, with lemon citrus hops and acidity followed by some Belgian candi sugar and a solid backbone of malty sweetness. Pretty nice stuff. glennmastrange (807), hobe sound, Florida, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of cereal and caramel, heavy hops of spruce and orange peel, moderate leather and soap for the yeast, with background notes of pear, wood, honey, clove and a tree bark/tea smell. Head is average sized, frothy, white, with excellent lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy amber/orange. Flavor starts lightly sweet and between light and moderately acidic, then finishes heavily bitter. Palate is medium, watery but a bit slick, and has a lively carbonation. I could easily identify the IPA side (orange and spruce) and the Belgian side (clove and pear). A tasty creation. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Ibrew2or3. Pours a hazy golden with a one finger white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of sweet malt, fruit, yeast, and citrus hops. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol. Very good. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Nov 29, 2008 Bomber. Pours a clear medium gold with a 3 finger fluffy off white head and spotty lacing. Nose is floral hops and spice. Taste is Belgian spice and citrus hops with a light resin boozy finish. Medium, sticky mouth feel. Interesting brew. Not bad tasting, but a little bit strange. Dmalone102 (216), Denver, Colorado, USA Nov 27, 2008 This was an interesting beer. I love hops and I love IPA’s, but I’ve never been super excited about the hop profile in Green Flash beers. The hop balance is too far on the bitter side for me, I prefer more of a flavor and aroma hop balance. The Belgian flavor profile was not overbearing, it worked well with the beer. It was very strong, with an alchol taste present. It’s a worthwhile beer to buy because it is so complex.
