potbeercollege (254), Boulder, Colorado, USA Sep 27, 2009 Tasting at GABF. yellow with white lighter head. lighter aroma of citrus and yeast and wheat. easy brew. manuchampions (95), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 26, 2009 22oz bomber from Brewery Creek in Vancouver BC. What a totally wonderful surprise. Never sure about hybrid beers like this...I’m a bit of a style purist. The beer pours a hazy valencia orange with thick foam head. There’s not as much as expected going on in the aroma...somewhat muted, neither tripel nor IIPA. The taste however is something else. It’s so clearly a blend of the very best qualities of each style that flowery adjectives don’t really do it justice. This beer is really exceptional and worth a try if you can get a hold of it. mcox90 (618), Wilton, USA Sep 20, 2009 22 oz bottle. Pours a reddish orange color with a big frothy off white head and spotty lace. Aroma is citrus hops, spice and honey. Smooth, slightly heavy palate. Flavor is light grapefruit, yeast, biscuit w/honey and lemon zest. Complex, interesting brew. hoppopotamus (182), Santa Cruz, California, USA Sep 19, 2009 A nice looking cloudy straw colored pour with a huge creamy head. Aroma has the deep full fruity notes of a belgian trappist style, with fig and yeast, but also the lighter citrus of the american hops. Flavor is a lot of belgian yeast and spice, but properly bitter, like an imperial IPA. Very bubbly on the tongue. This is a very interesting beer, I fear the aggressive hops cover up the intricacy of its belgian character, but I give it high marks anyways for creativity. patrickfannon (271), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 19, 2009 Bottle. Split this with James. Pours honey gold, with a bit of murkiness. Thick, pungent head; off-white with a creamy texture. Aroma of hops, pine, and hints of spice. Medium body with a full finish. Very good tripel. jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA Sep 19, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy orange-reddish body with small white head. Aroma is sweet citrus hop. Taste is stiff and orange and citrus hop. The aftertaste is slightly bitter. yobdoog (1426), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Sep 16, 2009 Aroma seems to have some spice, yeast, grassy hops and some caramel. Flavor is more green grassy hops over some brett and spices. Interesting. Chipper (179), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 15, 2009 Deep amber pour with a pillowy white head. Hoppy and sweet aroma, a little bread too. flavor was great. A balance of hop bitterness with a fine balance of sweetness. Excellent stuff.
