Commercial Description:
Le Freak is a modern ale created by converging two beer styles, Belgian Trippel and American Imperial IPA. The use of two yeast strains further marries the styles and American hops give the beer its modern flare.

Poured from 22 oz bottle a medium hazy light golden hue, nice size off white foamy head. Aroma of yeast, banana, hops, clove and spices. Flavour much of the same, however, pine resins and hoppage slam down. A wonderful marry of these lovely styles. Excellent beer, would love to try an on tap version, find it and drink it.

22 oz. bottle. A hazy gold pour with a big light-tan head. A mouth-watering aroma that features tons of pungent pine needles and grapefruits. Big body. Almost syrupy. A good bit of sweet caramel upfront. A nice transition with some rich vanilla flavors. Loads of grapefruits and orange peels in the tongue-strippingly dry finish that lingers. Some spiciness in there at the end too. This is great stuff!

22 oz Bottle. Crazy nose. Mint, fruit, citrus, nutmeg, clove, so many different things going on. The ’’usual Belgian’’ smell but tons more. Great orange amber color; light fluffy head that dissapated to light lace rather quickly. Feels thick in the mouth before I can even taste it. Next taste I get is creamy, then Belgian then... Lots of movement. The kind of beer you’d have to drink a number of times to really get a firm grasp of. It’s like the orange with the cloves stuck in it. Tangggy. Lagery sharpness. YUM

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops, grass, Belgian yeast, pepper, cloves, light citrus, slight orange marmalade, light fruit. Very pleasant scent. Poured pumpkin-orange/amber in color with a huge, dense, creamy, rocky, off-white head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Opaque. Some tiny particles. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of hops, resin, pine, citrus, fruit, pepper, yeast, and spices. Medium body. Smooth, chalky texture. Average carbonation. Hoppy, resinous, dry finish. I really liked this brew.

Deep orange color with a medium head. Aroma is solidly sweet with candi sugar and a nice amount of citrus and floral hops. Flavor has some nice spicy, hoppiness right away with sugar, bread, and oranges to finish things off. Nice feel. Overall good - I like most of the ’’Belgian Trippel/DIPAs’’, but with so many it becomes hard to do something new. Lots of hops and sugar, but this one is middle of the pack in my opinion (though still very good)

22 oz. bottle on 10/20/2008. Faintly turbid amber/gold body under a medium, yet durable, off white head with thin strands of lace. Stone fruits are noticeable early, followed by bitter citrus, spice, and some yeast. Bitterness enters quickly, making the underlying floral honey flavors almost an afterthought. Long, bitter finish has peppery qualities, bringing on the desire for another swallow. Medium body and carbonation, resinous, very dry palate. Certainly different, and marrying the best qualities of two different styles with a surprising effectiveness.

22 oz. bottle. Golden color with a thin, white head. Aroma of citrus hops and some clove. Flavor is hoppy with some piney notes, candi sugars. Prickly, spicy mouthfeel. Heavy carbonation. Long, peppery finish. Interesting take.
