COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Le Freak is a modern ale created by converging two beer styles, Belgian Trippel and American Imperial IPA. The use of two yeast strains further marries the styles and American hops give the beer its modern flare.

Tap at Bricks. Citrus, wheat, apricots and a some bitterness. Very dry. I need to go back and try this one again. Still can’t figure what I think.

Bottle, 9.2%. The aroma starts off with a mild citric note, hint of vanilla. Almost clear copper colour. Fruity flavour, some vanilla, a little paint thinner. Distinct but clean bitterness. Refreshing for the ABV, but a bit in-your-face.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with stable off-white head. Clear, sweet aroma of malt, caramel and fruit, with subtle notes of flowers and hops. Bitter aroma of hops, with malty and fruity notes. Warming alcohol presence. Sweetish finish. If it is balanced, then it must be some weird kind of balance. Nice, though.

Quite sturdy hoppy aroma and flavour that is just great. Good malty base. Pretty amber colour and off white large head.

This beer.....this beer. What is it?! It’s two beers? It’s one beer?? It’s a trippel it’s an imperial IPA?? It’s both blended so perfectly you couldn’t even tell. Lets just start with popping the lid. Massive sweet aroma from the belgian yeast followed immediately by the hops from the IPA. Can I get a balancing act?? I’m getting hot and bothered. As this warms up it just gets more complex and even better. Upon tasting it just punches your face with the massive hop bitterness but switches gears on you with the trippel. Just so damn balance and so dry and so incredibly good. This thing will just annihilate you in the best way. This is how beer should taste. It’s flawless. Just go get it NOW.

Has a sweet yeast aroma and a good head. Has a bitter hippy long finish melded with a sweet Belgian flavor. An unusual mix.

Part of a 6-pack IPA sampler. Best in show! Way to go Green Flash. .. excited for a brewery to open nearby! Citrus and floral, nice and strong. Wish I had a yard!

Draft. Nice lace on glass. Nice Belgian aroma and flavor. It had good flavor, but it seemed to stop a little short of where I wanted it to go. Smooth tasting though. World definitely drink again.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2014 22 oz bottle poured into a goblet. The aroma of warm caramel syrup could be detected on the nose as I was pouring it. Leaning in a bit closer, there was also a strong peach-like note with the caramel. After a short time, a candy sugar note also poked through with a pie crust-like breadiness; kinda reminded me of a peach cobbler pie. There were also some notes of raisin, oranges, a hint of a floral quality, and, near the end of the bottle, a bubblegum aroma. It pours a clear orange amber (of course, as with any bottle conditioned beer, as it nears the end of the bottle, it gets a bit of haze) with a foamy, rocky head that’s dense and creamy in texture. The head slowly dissipates, leaving a big puffy island floating on the drink as well as an abundant amount of puffy stripes of lace on the glass. The taste is a medium sweet with a medium high bitter and a very light, faint sour note that blends well. There’s a very soft, pillowy, creamy carbonation to accompany the creamy textured beer. The medium / medium full body starts with a toffee and toasted bread flavor and some hints at stone fruit (apricot / peach) and raisin. The toffee becomes much more prevalent by mid to late bottle. It finishes with a refreshing pine and citrus combination with hints of grass. These traits linger in the aftertaste with a hop zest and some toffee too. I want to say this finishes dry, but really, an abundantly spiced juicy quality fits it better.

On tap at Global Brew. Hazy golden with a small head that remains. Aroma is fresh mown grass and yeast. Taste is tart citrus, sweet malt, a bit of funk and mild hoppiness. Nice stuff, interesting.
