COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Le Freak is a modern ale created by converging two beer styles, Belgian Trippel and American Imperial IPA. The use of two yeast strains further marries the styles and American hops give the beer its modern flare.

Sample at CBC 2014, Blue Session. Poured a clear light amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is yeast acid citrus. The flavour is strong bitter with a rich wood malt yeast hop bitter alcohol liqourice bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The alcohol burned a little so only good in small quantities.

Medium amber color. Smell of banana and carmelized sugars. Taste of carmelized sugars and resin. Lots of tiny bubbles in the mouth. Crisp. Kind of a cross between an ipa and a belgian pale

Citrusy floral hops come from this clear medium amber brew with a good off white head od medium sized bubbles. Malty and bitter with a nice hoppy aftertaste. Its medium bodied and had good carbonation. It has that abbey taste at first then the imperial ipa takes over. A good combo. The only thing i dont agree with is for an abbey its to clear yet for an imperial its just right. Hmmm tough rate. I guess the other thing is i expected more of a body for this brew. Not bad. Worth a drink for sure.

Pours a hazy light rust orange. A strong citrus aroma with hints of hops and grains. Taste is a nice mix of citrus, grains, wheat, and yeast. Not too dry, but leaves a wheat/yeast aftertaste.

On tap at Relm in San Elijo Hills. Pours a beautiful honey color with an effervescent offwhite head. Very light aroma of honey. Interesting honey flavoring on an earthy palate. Nicely done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Cloudy copper pour, lots of thin straw like white head that simmers leaving little traces along the sides of my glass. Aroma, lemon, hops, grass, almost white wine like, very nice. Taste, bitter up front , even more so in the middle, the triple side shines through towards the end with some lemon and fruity esters, finishes bitter and yeasty. Nice beer.

Very herbal and in a good way. Lots of malt and toast. Citrus, peppery and not much yeast. Looks bottle conditioned or just a lot of sediment. A bit dry, not too heavy, the 9% is well masked. A hint of fruitiness.
