Sweet on the tip of the tongue, develops into a nice hoppy bitterness. Mush more tripel than IPA. Hops are not dominant. Very good tripel. jeffc666 (1886), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Jul 13, 2009 apple juice colored. small but stamina-laden white head. hoppy-fruity (pineapple, citrus) some nice yeast balance. well attenuated medium body. crisp refreshing. Ramenen (453), San Salvador, El Salvador Jul 11, 2009 Bought it at Whole Foods in Sacramento. Finally, after a long wait I was able to drink Le Freak. Perfect marriage of two great styles. The sweet of the Abbey Trippel with the bitterness and fullness of IIPA. DJMonarch (6036), Northwich, Cheshire, England Jul 9, 2009 From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 12/10/2007
Spicy aroma. Golden coloured slightly fruity and spicy. Strong in alcohol. Crisp and pale bitter malt finish. baraciisch (138), USA Jul 9, 2009 Cloudy dark yellow-golden in color with white foamy head.... Citrusy sweet aroma.... Flavor is sweet citrus and yeastly like a trippel initially, with a little more bitterness on the finish than you’d expect from a Belgian.... Citrus hops and yeast linger on the palate... Pretty good Belgian IPA...
