The aroma has notes of sweet malt, lemon, grass, peaches, and a bit of brettanomyces. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, peaches, lemongrass, and other spices, as well as lighter notes of alcohol, leading to a lightly tart finish. JK54B (913), Helsinki, Finland

Slightly hazy golden yellow/orange colour. More than average hoppiness. More IPA than a abbey tripel. At the end hops bite. dcschiller (20), Arizona, USA

It retains the long bitterness of an ipa but there remains a sense of the familiar belgian yestiness and sweetness. I find the combination to create something not quite IPA and not quite trippel. I’m not sure if it’s truly successful, but it most certainly is not bad. mabel (2590), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Hazy, medium orange body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Heavy grass-stained tree trunks with tons of pithy citrus and a long bitter aftertaste. Full body seems chewy. Packs a bitter punch, but doesn’t quite get it together in the end.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Poured a darker gold. Nose was spicy, floral and citrus hops. Some candy sweetness. Flavor was a strange mix of belgian yeast character and C hops. Nice caramel malt sweetness and a not so overwhelming alcohol presence eventually balanced out the yeast/hop medley. Probably one of the best executions of a style i don’t really care for (belgian IPA).
