COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Le Freak is a modern ale created by converging two beer styles, Belgian Trippel and American Imperial IPA. The use of two yeast strains further marries the styles and American hops give the beer its modern flare.

02/02/2010. 650ml bottle, courtesy of TheGrandmaster. Resinous IPA with a bigger whack of bitterness and mid-kettle hop flavour than the average new world IPA... I like that. Then there is the beautiful aromatic Belgian character (Ardennes?) that adds something special and spicy without ever overwhelming the American heart of the beer. Well attenutated. Wonderfully subtle like a the best Tripels without losing any of its required in-your-face aggression of IIPA. The Mohammed Ali of beer. This kicks the lily white butts of the "Belgian IPAs" I’ve tried before. Deliciously (and dangerously) drinkable. How can this be 9.2%???!!!! That is freakin’ wrong. Great job Green Flash.

ALLOVATE (2142) - Butler, AUSTRALIA - JUN 10, 2013
Produces up a murky orange with low carbonation and a messy, short-lived foam. Aroma is dominated by supple fruit esters such as pear, peach and lychee, some yeasty spice and ethanol. Yeasty, fruity palate. Body is leaner than expected and smooth and warming in the finish. Moderate carbonation sees the esters penetrate into every nook and cranny. Bitter fruit and pine needle swallow. Not much length. Candyish mid-palate, light malt and delicate hops. Everything seems so subtle. Was anticipating a facehoover of a beer and it delivered the polar opposite. Fresh and ripe oranges, peach and mango fills it out with a hint of ’strawberries & cream’ candies. The IIPA element a no show. Easy drinking stuff but not impressive. (33cL, no date stamp, Cellarbrations Carlisle)

Bottle: Clear copper color with an aroma that is a conflicting the senses. Aroma of non-pine, and similar to going to 7-11 and mixing all the Slurpee flavors. Unique. Zesty. Truly Le Freak. Better than I expected which means the hops came through in a way that pleases me.

Draught. This is a really nice belgian IPA with lots of depth and complexity. My notes are a little cauge on this but it was carmely hoppy and intense.

Ganska kraftig humlesmak för min del utan att för den delen ta övertaget, lite bett i den som räddar den lite kan man säga....... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a slightly hazy golden with frothy light tan head. Aroma is nice and light citrus with some raspberry notes that are both sweet and tart. The flavor is a well-rounded balance between the bitterness of the hops and the sweetness of the malt that lets the raspberry-like shine through with a slightly tart but overly satisfying finish.
