Commercial Description:
Le Freak is a modern ale created by converging two beer styles, Belgian Trippel and American Imperial IPA. The use of two yeast strains further marries the styles and American hops give the beer its modern flare.

Tap @ The Gate in English Pint glass for some reason. Hazy golden with puffy lasting head and lace. Hoppy sweet vanilla yeasty lemon pastry aroma, Sweet vanilla marshmallow with melon and very spicy hoppy finish. Medium body and medium carbo. Excellent Belgian soft mouthfeel. Well hidden alcohol. Delicious and deceptively strong.

what a ridiculous beer...love the mellow hops in the imperial pale combined with the spice of the belgian trippel. superb balance and much better than the famed Cali-Belgie from stone. love it!

A "Belgian IPA", on tap at the Ginger Man, NYC. Belgian yeasty sour fruitiness, combined with piney hops. Sour cherry, grapefruit. Just great - beer squared!

Bottle, bought at Vinens Verden, Odense. Pours a great, clear golden with a giant, creamy, yellowish head. Fine, large bubbles in the liquid. Great duration on the head. Super aroma, lots of hops, pineapples, apples, yeast, pine. Pleasant mixture of the two styles. Lovely dry and very creamy mouthfeel. Flavour start super lovely sweet, good doughy malts. Then a hell of a lot of hops hit me, sweet and fruity. Grapefruit and pine. Lots of dryness, apples, pineapples, pine, apricot. Grass and hay with a great, dry finish. Wonderful beer!

Bomber->Honker: pours a thin white diminishing head atop a cloudy orange body. Orange aroma, some floral. Very hoppy, medium body, great character, bitter finish. A very nice fusion of an IPA and a tripel, but much heavier on the west coast IPA style.

aroma is hops, candy sugar and yeast. hop aroma is quite grassy with light citrus. body is pale straw yellow, a sharp blonde. flavor is huge hop bitterness with a backbone of the soft yeast which is a huge contrast. bitterness lingers and hit of booze rides out long as well. mouthfeel is soft and comforting. this beer is like firecrackers going off all around you, i want to cover my head and hide or maybe even cry. this beer is quite easy to rate as the flavors are so outright and this is obviously even better then the chouffe which is already top 10 for me.

Bright orange with a nice fluffy head. Aromas of orange peel, zest and pulp. A bit of cardamon, coriander mixed with a boat load of citrusy west coast style hops. A real treat for those timid of traditional Belgian IPAs or Tripels. Didn’t have any pencil funk, but was definitely a west coast take on a otherwise classic style.

Bomber served in a snifter. Hazy golden honey hue with a large frothy off-white head. Belgian nose with some hoppy and yeasty elements. Interesting... caramel and bubblegum also. Solidmouthfeel. Bubblegum on the attack as well. Medium body and some fizzy carbonation. Creamy, oily, and coats your tongue. There’s a lot going on here. Long, bitter finish. Really good stuff.
