3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hopscotch (7289) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 11, 2012
Growler… Clear amber ale with a large, frothy, white head. Good retention. The nose furnishes piney, resiny, earthy hops flanked by hints of caramel, fruitcake and pear. Full-bodied with stinging carbonation. Toffee and caramel malts provide an excellent stage for the tropical, citrusy, rindy hops to show off. Lengthy, bittersweet finish… with the bitterness lingering on and on and on. Growler courtesy of richiesd!

Fresh and hoppy aroma has lots of exotic fruits, but at the same time it is a bit light. Flavour is sweet and rather hoppy with resin and fruits. Good DIPA but too sweet, again.

2nd August 2011 GBBF Cask. Reported at a ’mere’ 9.5% here. Hazy gold beer, residual white head. Nice citrussy nose with some cat piss! Smooth semi dry palate. Intense Citra come Nelson hops with a little dried fruits. Some tropical fruits buried in there as well. Finishes smooth and semi dry. Nice DIPA.
