Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA we have ever brewed—mashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isn’t for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

Clear dark gold with a white head. I barely had the beer in front of me, 6 inches away and I already had strong hops in my nose. Strong pine aroma with light earth and nice citiric grapefruit. Flavor is full of pine and some grass and citrus grapefruit. Some sweet malts as well. Medium smooth body. So good. My palate is wrecked for certain. (Draught at Thrash Zone, Yokohama)

Crushed with Honkeybra at GABF. Have yet to be really disappointed by this brewery. Nice DIPA. Nothing incredible here but it’s tasty and smooth.

(Draught) Pours a clear yellow body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of grass, melon, pineapple, grapefruit, and orange. Flavor of citrus, pineapple, grass, florals, light herbs, and pine.

Clear amber color/ beige head. Huge floral piney hop aromas with grainy malts. medium body. Big hoppy bitter grapefruit, pine flavors front to back, with a thin caramel maltiness that’s no match for this massive hop show.

Tap at Beachwood. Pours with a nearly clear amber body and a off-white head that leaves perfect rings of lace. Aroma is hoppy with dank stickiness, bitter orange and overall, beautiful herbaceousness. Taste is herbal, bitter and awesomely hoppy. Medium carbonation. Great!

On tap at San Diego Brewing Co. Hazy light copper/orange amber kinda thing. Fat finger eggshell head drops to fat bubbly lace. Nose is sweet and alcohol. Grapefruit, dark grape, yeast and hops. Motherfucker! Taste is one big fat hop bomb! Big and sweet. Big ’un! Long, long, long bitter after first big burst. Front is a big full sugar burst. Caramel and pinetrees are invited to the fiesta. But the aspirin bitterness kills the deathstar that was the palate. Great name for this brew.

On Tap at Popeye. Rating from memory (2hrs ago and a bit hazy). Big piney notes, not a huge backbone. Dry. Big lingering hoppy finish. My type of IIPA, but I would like more florally nose. Still enjoyable. Should have got a pint, instead of half a pint.

On tap at O’Briens Pub. This is a pretty killer double IPA. Has a beautiful deep copper color with a light vanilla head that caps it off. Robust aroma slammed with grapefruit citrus, pine sap, musty hop oils and wet earth. Im a sucker for these types of beer. Ass-kicking bitterness in the flavor, with more citrus and sweet malt behind it. Puckering bitterness lasts after each sip. Medium body. A bit like Moylans Hopsickle, but less balanced. I like it though.
