COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamiltonís Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. Itís the most complicated West CoastĖinspired IPA we have ever brewedómashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isnít for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2012 Draft at Stone with Linh. Pours a bright, deep amber body with nice off-white lacing. Aroma is fresh hop, sweet caramel malts, and citrus. Mouthfeel is aggressive hop with great citrus notes, pine hop, along with a sweet malty backbone.

Orange citrus, hop dominated aroma. Gold in color with an orange tinge. Crazy hoppy, no balance. Earthy, slightly dirty tasting hop domination. Definitely the hoppiest beer in the room...which is great when done correctly, but be prepared to be skull f*cked by hops...too dirty for me, so to speak.

Sample at Buckeye Beer Engine. Pours a clear amber with a medium beige head. Pungent bitter hop nose with caramel malt. Grassy and piney hop flavor with caramel malt and a grapefruit finish.

Tap. Slightly cloudy with a decent head and lacing. Giant resinous aroma, pine some citrus, just huge. Flavor is also big hop, enough malt to still show itself through all the hops. Alcohol is noticeable but not distracting. This is a huge beer and I enjoyed it a lot.

IIPA # 100. On cask at Beachwood BBQ. Pours clear orangish copper with thick white head. Aromas bright citrus, hops, pine, tropical fruit, and nice caramel malts. Flavors of citrus, light pine, caramel malts, and good amount of bitter hops. Flavor was not as good as the nose, but still a pretty solid IIPA.

Sampled at the Great American Beer Festival on September 17, 2010. Thought I was done drinking for the night, but then I saw thisÖ what a better way to end the night than to wreck your palate? It has a yellowish-green color (does that make any sense?). Maybe itís because Iím still wearing my sunglasses. Thin/light white head. Heavily hopped aroma... there be fresh, yummy hops here. It does certainly smell good! Has some sort of resinous alcohol thing behind it, but for some reason I think I might be mislead. Possible alcohol is low and resin isnít even there. Hmm... the nose, at least, is already suffering from trickery. Despite its name, itís really not that bad. Itís not a wrecker, really, itís perfectly fine on the palate and very good. It does have a little of that resiny BO hop quality in the finish that makes it a little displeasing to me. Bitter going down the throat, thatís for sure. Overall, in the mouth, thereís not much... could be that my palate is already wrecked. Very pleasing to the palate. This is a great beer.

UPDATED: APR 16, 2012 Solid dipa for sure. Would like to taste side by side with West Coast. Nice resin and orange pith on nose. Grapefruit rind bitterness but I think my palate is still intact. Dangerously drinkable...reminds me a lot of Founders Double Trouble but I prefer this.

Sampled @ GABF! Not sure this one lived up to the bill...burnt tangerine pour with a small ivory head. Aroma of bright citrus, tropical fruit, and pine. Flavor just didnít live up to the nose. Lots of sharp hops but the caramel is a bit much and softens the blow. Wanted my eyes to cross and unfortunately, they stayed focused and forward. Descent bitter finish. Not bad.

(on tap at brewery). Pours copper color with off-white head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Taste is slightly sweet, but not as overpowering on the hops as I expected. Medium bodied with bitter finish. Decent DIPA that hides the alcohol well.

Clear amber with a medium to large beige head. The nose met a shitload of hops, pine, grapefruit, lemon and toasted malt. Flavour was packed with hops, pine, grapefruit, lemons and toasted malt. Dry and and fairly good body. FInished dry and bitter.
