Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA we have ever brewed—mashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isn’t for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

Tap @ Falling Rock. Pours dark reddish brown with a white head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, pine and floral hops. Taste is heavy caramel, piny hops, grapefruit. Medium body, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Nice IIPA, but to sweet to be really good. The hops is there, but the malt base is to sweet. Not bad in anyway tho. 040311

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2011 Tap at the Graduate in Davis, CA. Pours dark amber with a creamy beige head that did some ring lace. Aroma is fruity in an unusual way. Med body. Flavor is very hoppy. Almost a berry flavor initially. Then it seems spice/yeasty in a light way. Finally seems to settle on pine. It’s quite bitter, and the flavor is intense. There seems to be heavy malt, but the hop masks it well. Excellent ale.

4 ounce sample on tap at the Davis Graduate. The initial aroma is super citrus orange. Smells like orange soda, actually. There is some moderate ethanol retronasally, but the orange soda smell makes up for this. Transparent orange-copper body with a small, white head. Starts with tons of grapefruity hops and accompanying harsh bitterness. A little sticky in the middle. Finishes with more bitter, herbal, grapefruity hops. A big, brash beer.

On tap at the Davis Graduate. Pours amber witha modest off-white head and a sweet floral aroma. There is a tasty caramel malt flavor with some serious piny hop bitterness.

This is a ballsy beer. The aroma was very strong of a myriad of hops. The pour was thick and the beer stuck to the sides of the glace. Lacing was impressive. Taste was what you would expect and was a floral flavor explosion.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2012 On cask at Spuyten Duyvil, NYC. Great beer. Aromas of apricot, caramel, and grass. Taste is bitter, and it lingers for a very long finish. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Orange, cloudy, with a thin head.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2014 On tap at Stone. The Arnold of IPAs. Thick, full and muscular. Lots of pine and citrus on the nose and in the mouth. Good full sticky body. Easy to drink. Quite malty but never too cloyingly sweet. Can be a bit overbearing like the Guvernator.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2012 Draft at Stone with Linh. Pours a bright, deep amber body with nice off-white lacing. Aroma is fresh hop, sweet caramel malts, and citrus. Mouthfeel is aggressive hop with great citrus notes, pine hop, along with a sweet malty backbone.
