Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA we have ever brewed—mashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isn’t for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

Bottle 12 oz. Pours amber with low light beige head. Good lacing. Aroma is of tropical fruits, pine, citrus. Taste is of pine, tropical fruits, citrus, sharp bitterness, alcohol. Palate: medium body. Medium carbonation. Slightly sticky mouthfeel. Overall: Good, but a tad heavy on alcohol. Not sessionnable (but then again, if there was "session" in the name of the beer, I guess it would be (c.f. sessiongate))

Grapefruit blast in second half. Nice apricot caramel nose with some sweetness at the very beginning. Slightly deeper/thicker than expected at beginning, and overall a heavier beer than I was expecting. Thicker mouth feel. Woah 9.5%. Like woah. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amber with copper reflexions, lacey. Full body, very flavorful, rich and smooth, hides alcohol well, lingering aftertaste. Bitter, balanced with subtle sweetness, Intense grapefruit taste, hopy, malty. Quite intense and delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On cask. Clear golden amber pour with no head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, hops...you get the hint. Taste of massive hops, caramel sweetness to keep this in check. On cask so lower carbonation and a little smoother probably than bottle version. Totally a great beer for hopheads!

Copper pour, thin head. Plentiful pine in the nose. Bitter!! Middle is caramel and fresh hop flowers. Medium soft mouth-feel. Finish is blazing hop bitterness. Amazingly balanced beer for all that is in play here.

Pours a very nice copper/amber color with a very nice hop aroma. Tastes of grassy citrus and is as it says....it will destroy your palate...but in a good way.

Pours a nice golden copper with nice white lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, tastes like it smells. Grassy, citrus, and it will destroy your palate. A pretty good beer.

Aroma of hops and citrus zest. Amber colour with a good short lasting head. Bitter taste of hops with an acceptably bitter finish.
