2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
MDR!

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
$3.49 single that Brandon at Fairway Sav-Mor got for me (why thank you, kind sir!)
Appearance: A beautiful orange/amber color with a nice haze. Semi-aggressive pour resulted in a perfect pour with two fingers of head floating on top... soapy and creamy in texture. Awesome lacing. Phenomenal looking beer.
Smell: Holy hell, that’s the stuff. Huge amount of dankness with an overall aggressive hop aroma. A slightly dirty character to it as well. A lot of that earthy pine aroma, with underlying fruitiness and maltiness.
Taste: Hm, juuust a little hoppy, eh? Wow. So many hop flavors on this one from the pine resin stickiness, lemon zest flavor and bitterness, tropical fruits, and just a really nice amount of malt that really accents the beer nicely. Yes, accents -- there’s a decently sweet malt profile, but this is most definitely a hop head’s sort of brew, as it’s got a face smacking amount of bitterness on the finish. Perfect choice when you just want a bold, gigantic, bitter brew.
Feel: A nice medium body with medium carbonation that works wonders on this beer. Not too thick to drink like some sort of medicine, and the carbonation’s not too high as to help make the bitterness overwhelming.
Palate Wrecker is right. Stone has their Ruination, which is supposedly palate wrecking, but I thought that beer was pleasantly balanced -- this is a different beast. This beer isn’t quite balanced, but it doesn’t look to be. It’s showcasing the hops the best way Green Flash knows how, and this is a masterfully crafted beer. I prefer this to their West Coast IPA by quite a margin, and would consider this to now be one of my all-time favorite DIPAs.
The ONLY reason I won’t give this one a higher rating is because as great as it is, the bitterness would probably stop me from drinking a lot of this before the ABV caught up to me. Regardless, legendary brew.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap. Hazy amber/orange colour. Big aroma that screams west coast with hops and more hops and some pine cones to boot. Bitter and leafy notes on the palate with a resinous stickyness and fairly dry brew enhancing the bitter notes. Says what is says it’ll do, wreck a palate. Good stuff.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Just wreck my palate. Tons of hops, very bitter, piney, earthy, very dark citrus fruit, long aftertaste, bitter, dry palate. I am sipping my next beer and my palate is still wrecked. Awesome brew for hop heads. You need to try.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark orange color with a medium sized white head, somewhat rocky. Resinous pine and some citrus in the aroma. Crushing pine and aspirin hop flavors up front, some ruddy and vegetal components then manifest. Oily hop bitterness in a lingering finish, with slight malt breadiness. Mouthfeel is medium light, very drying.

This is way better than HopSlam in my opinion and it comes with zero hype. Nice hoppy aroma and big hoppy flavor.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Interesting! The sweet & citrus hops make this smooth upfront & then it hits you w/ a huge hop blast in the finish while still maintaining its drinkability! Very good cloudy copper pour w/ a head & good lacing. Aroma is robust w/ hops! Pretty darn good stuff!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
BBD 6/27/14. Pours a clear medium amber with a nice dark ruby hue. Average head and lacing. Rich nose of grapefruit, with hints of other sweet citrus, over a light background of pine and caramel malt. Medium body with a smooth texture. The carbonation level is on the low end of normal. The complex flavor profile is a hop assault over a nice caramel balance. Grapefruit begins the assault with notes of other citrus. It then progresses to pine coupled with a nice intense bitterness that is pine and grapefruit rind. Towards the end, a well balanced caramel sweetness emerges to somewhat soothe the palate. The finish is an alcohol burn at the back of the throat with lingering bitterness and tartness. This one is not for the faint hearted.
