COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA we have ever brewed—mashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isn’t for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

Bottled. Amber appearance. Beige head. Piney citrusy hops, caramel and boletus showing up in the nose. Rather present malt back. Strong bitterness. Full bodied. Despite the high IBUs this double IPA is rather reminiscent of barley wine. Walnuts, boletus and piney hops in the finish which is dry.

mile (3129) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 23, 2012
Bottle. Dark golden, hazy, average and fully diminishing head. Moderate to full malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel, tropical fruitiness, lots of grapefruit - piney hoppyness, some alcohol. Body is average to full, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, some caramel and some tropical fruitiness, grapefruit and piney hoppyness, light alcohol. Finish is average to long, malty and lightly sweetish, some caramel, faint fruitiness, lots of bit sharp piney - some grapefruit hoppyness, some alcohol. Really well hopped DIPA – finish lacks the fruitiness/too much alcohol in the finish/caramel does not go along with hoppyness.

Bottle from Vika. Clear amber body, low white head. Aroma of grass, mango, malt. taste is quite hoppy, notes of grass, pine, citrus, plenty of caramel, high bitterness, too sweet to pass as a "palate wrecker" as I think the high bitterness is cancelled out by lots of unfermented malt. Sweet and piney aftertaste.

Bottle. Reddish amber with a beige head leaving lacing. Aroma: peach, butterscotch, vanilla. Taste: pineapple, peach, toffee, pepper, vanilla, pine, grapefruit, not as bitter as expected. Almost full-bodied. Not a palate wrecker, but very nice.

Pours an amber orange with a thick lacy head. Aroma is hops and booze, lots of alcohol in this one. Taste is heavy on malts hops and alcohol. Too much alcohol taste. Very thick and syrupy. I'm not a big fan of this one ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours orange with some wispy head. Aroma is minimal but holy hell is this hoppy. Flavor is.over-hopped pallet wrecking goodness. I love hoppy beers but this is extreme. A bomber is a bit much but its a nice beer.

Bottle. Dark glod. Fine grassy hops, but not as extreme as the name would make you believe. Cland and crisp, long herbal tail.

Notes from old backlog: Pours a nice hazy golden with a lacing dense off white head (film). Very piny grapefruity aroma- some bready/ cookieish pale malts in thr back and a big C-hop citrus and resin presence. Mildly phenolic. Prickly but velvety body. Some cookieish pale malts and a big dense biscuity understone. Fairly fruity with a big candied citrus presence followed by a hugely bitter piny back. A homogeneous hop bomb, but still decent. Not clean enough.

355ml bottle. Bursting with big fruity hop aromas and a crazy resinous hop flavour that coats the tongue and travels to all parts of the mouth leaving long lingering finish. Definately one to sip and enjoy.
