Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA we have ever brewed—mashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isn’t for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

12oz bottle from Armanetti’s. Pours a cloudy, orange, golden-amber colored body with a finger-width, dense and creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is big orange hops with some pine oils and florals along with a heavier caramel and a medium sweet, bready malt backing. A few resins, lemon and grapefruit citruses, and a touch of toast. Flavor is similar. Sweeter resins to the grapefruit and orange hops up front with an oily pine, floral, and slight herbal note. Lots of caramel malts with some breadiness and a touch of toast towards the end. Finishes pretty sweet with lots of orange citruses, oily pines, resins, and plenty of caramel that dries with a medium-high bitterness and a lengthy aftertaste. Medium-full body and a soft, moderate carbonation with a bit of an alcohol note. Overall, this is a heavily hopped, bitter DIPA with plenty of caramel and bready malts. A bit too sweet for my liking and some alcohol warmth with a heavier bitterness. This wasn’t bad, but I like more of a "balanced" DIPA.

Tap @ the downtown Saucer .. . pours a deep caramel .. amazing foam, lacing too .. . very balanced for an ipa .. . bee sting honey, caramel, and yaaarp .. . a good beverage but hardly a palate wrecker .. . . You’re so wise. You’re like a miniature Buddha, covered in hair.

From a 650ml bottle on 12/7/2012. Pours a fairly clear dark golden with a biggish fluffy head. Has an exquisite, heavy floral aroma featuring lychee, passionfruit, pineapple and grapefruit, against a light caramel background. This is a hop bomb flavour wise, with an extreme, lingering grapefruity, resiny bitterness the defining element (the listed IBU rings true). But there’s lots of lovely sweetness in there as well, with orange marmalade, apricot, honey and caramel all in the mix. The texture is slightly creamy. A huge, complex, wonderful balanced imperial IPA. Green Flash beers truly rock.

clear orange, smooth beige head. very nice quite hoppy aroma, malts, classic US dipa, good malty base. Flavor is very very bitter hoppy, caramelly, very malty, pretty extreme, very well brewed for such a bitter and strong iipa.

Deep medium amber with a frothy head. Aromas of strong citrus, grapefruit, pine, and light caramel. Flavors of strong citrus, bitter grapefruit, pine, and just a little caramel to poke its head up in the back end through all the crazy overhopped flavors. Extremely bitter, alcohol hidden, bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for a while, and has a medium sweetness. Love that powerhouse of hop flavor but not a fan of to much bitterness.

Bottled. Poured crystal-clear, orange-tinted golden with a fluffy eggshell head. The aroma picked up almost meaty grapefruit and pine hoppage over supple bready malts.. sweeter than expected, but probably because it’s a few months old. The flavor opened with peppery alcohol and pine resin bitterness, with bready and lesser caramel support behind.. scratchy bitterness (mostly pine and grapefruit again) throughout.. spicy and very bitter on the long finish, carrying through mostly grapefruit. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation on the palate.. very bitter, but very tasty.

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2013 Bottle from Ølbutikken. Pours hazy orange with lively carbonation and a small head. Aroma hits the spot with heavy pine, cake dough malt, and loads of hops. Imagine sucking on a fresh, hopmarinated pine log blended with doughy malt and you have the taste. A wee bit to alcohol shines through. After taste bites hard and lingers on for a long time.

Pours a golden orange with a creamy tan head. Smells of citrus with a hint of sweet malt. Taste is all hops, floral and citrus. Finishes clean but very bitter, delicious. The real standout here is the smoothness of this beer. Let it warm up to 45-50 degrees and the palate is super creamy. Overall very nice.

Bottled 12fl Oz (Beer Hunters)
Clear deep amber color, small steady beige head. Rye-bread, sugar and hops in the nose. Medium-bodied. Bready, sweetish flavor, not very fresh feeling (has it ever been?). Aftertaste has nice long resiny hoppyness.
