COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA we have ever brewed—mashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isn’t for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

Draft at mad Mex wg. Pours a straw yellow with no head. Big citrus and pine nose. Flavor is very bitter. Does what it advertises. Alcohol warmth slightly affects the body, leaving it a little thin.

Bottled. Pours clear and deep golden with a small off-white head, fair lacing. Nose of grapefruity, pine and peach. Sweet flavor with citrus fruis, peach, resin and caramel notes. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carb. Ends up dry and decent bitter. An exceptional IPA.

Dark amber in color, clear with a thin head. big hops aroma and flavor. This was a huge IPA. Big rich roast flavor with a good balance and added hops make for a good Double IPA.

bottle into big sam adams glass. Amber straw ale w/ average white head, looks innocent. Nose is fucking thick & oily. Citrus, grass, pine, everything- at once. Carbonated yet syrupy mouthfeel that puckers and lasts. There are a shit ton of malts to pull this off, but all I can focus on is the hops (of course). Herbal, sticky, acidic hops. What separates this 100+ IBU IIPA from the rest though, is really how deep & unrelenting the bitterness digs. You hit so many different flavors: lemons, limes, & grapefruits. Pine needles between teeth & sap on fingers. Diesel herb & Lemon Head candy. Great beer!

Rant: How does this beer NOT have a 100% style rating??? Oh, & I just lol’ed at so many ratings like ’not even as hoppy or a palate wrecker as -insert whateva’ your favorite/typical amazing 7% IPA is-’.......Yeah, OK.

Bottle via trade w/ deftim13, thanks! Pours clean amber w/ meringue head, resiny pine aroma, malty sweet and full-bodied, aggressive piney resiny bitterness throughout, solid DIPA

Pours clear orange amber with big off white foamy head. Big aroma of pine, herbs, grass and citrus among the lightly sweet caramel, grainy nature of the malt. Balanced with the hops, the warming malt body among the big bitterness and flavours linger well through the finish. Added points for lingering on the palate/destruction.
