COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA we have ever brewed—mashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isn’t for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

Bottle. Pours a hazy orangeish amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma consists mainly of very piney hops with hints of spruce and mint and with a strong toffee undertone. Flavour is much fruitier than the aroma with strong overtones of orange and grapefruit; very resiny, there is still lots of pine with notes of toffee and nuts. Mouthfeel is a little slick but dry rather than oily, with lively carbonation and a big, long bitter finish. Overall this is really good beer but it’s definitely a sipper - it’s a bit too rich to drink more than one or two in a sitting.

For a beer this hoppy and at 9.5% it is remarkably well rounded and drinkable. Clouded and amber with sticky lacing and an off white head. Aroma is that of pine. The finish isn’t over powering but occupies the entire mouth.

Tap at Taps restaurant in Petaluma. Slightly hazy bright orange pour wih a white clingy head. This beer is no joke - hops stand up and punch you right in the face, but it finishes so clean. Grapefruit and some pine hop. Awesome.

Pours amber copper in color with an off white sandy head. The aroma brings potent hops pleasant with sweet and bitter notes melded nicely together. The flavor is similar, somehow though with the huge hop profile it stays super smooth on the tongue. There are more bitter than sweet notes that lay on the tongue. Great with mussels.

Bottle. With deep thanks to StefanSD. Pours clear deep reddish gold, medium to thick cream-coloured head, lacing is ropey to very good. Nose is Pond’s cold cream, sour cream, tangerine, peach, bloody layers of pine and spruce, scads of grapefruit, doesn’t smell bitter. Flavours of tangerines, massive piney bitterness, creamy grassiness, really dripping with juicy fruit esters. I have been truly spoiled with the quality of beer I’ve been drinking lately.

650 ml bottle. Pours a golden brown with light head but lots of carbonation. Hops bomb to the nose - nice fruity citrus and pine aromas. Hops bomb taste. Orange peel and malts. Big bitter finish. Name is apt.

S: caramel color, solid off-white collar, thick head, good lacing A: sticky, hop aroma, floral, dry, citrus T: initial soft, malt, followed quickly by bitter hops, but smooths out very well, medium body, medium finish O: a very well-made IPA, great balance of malts & hops, tasty, worth having a few times & then a few more times, get it while you can! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

In draft at sheffields. Clear red color with very sticky foam in tulip glass. Fruity and hoppy aroma. Grapefruit , floral and Carmel taste. Super bitter and hoppy but just how I love it. This one has me smiling

Poured from one of those cool Green Flash bottles into a weizen glass. Pours with a big ass amount of head. A little bit of sticky lacing, but not as much as I’d expect. Skunky (as in skunky hops, not skunked beer) aroma. Mouthfeel is super thick with a lot of carbonation that gets lost in the viscosity of this bad muthafucka. Taste is super piney. Like sucking on a freshly cut spruce tree. A good IIPA but not my favorite. I was worried about this being too bitter for me but it wasn’t. Probably because of the massive amount of malt to get his up to 9.5% abv.

12oz bottle. thanks to andrew for letting me have one of his. he probably didn’t like it and just wanted to unload it... semi-bright and assertive citrusy piney hop profile at first with a little sense of astringency and abrasiveness harsh tones towards the back.... flavors have some added sweetness upfront and through the middle with some biscuity caramel malt notes but the hops soon take control with an astringent and bitter piney citrusy hop feel. bitterness continues late and lingers on the palate for quite a bit. medium bodied, somewhat soft maybe, with adequate carbonation. harsh.
