3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bright, new shiny copper color. Head holds to a thin white film. Lacing is fine and blanketous. That’s prolly not a word but it gets the point across. No, not prolly, that’s my word. The aroma is just bitter. Its not even hops. The flavor is the definition of bitter. The palate is bitter and has a little spike of dryness. The bite is good. The finish is a bit harsh due to being too bitter. Is that even possible?

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Head is initially large, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting.
Body is light to medium amber.
Aroma is lightly malty (caramel, toasted grain), moderately to heavily hoppy (resin, grapefruit), with a note of alcohol.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter.
Full body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
Wow. This has just about the most one-dimensional aroma you could imagine in an IPA. A resin-grapefruit bomb with virtually nothing else going on. Citric and abrasive in the mouth, just as the name suggests, so it’s no fun to drink either. Looks nice and has a enjoyable creamy mouthfeel, but is otherwise a profoundly boring beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Belmont Station Bier Cafe, pours a mostly clear copper with a medium off-white head. Aroma of strong herbal hops, marijuana and rye malt notes - quite the herbal hop punch. Intense herbal hops smother the palate with little resource - still balanced with the rye malt. The rye and herbal notes linger on and on. Excellent hop scorcher.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a bomber into tulip. Awesome DIPA! floral, cirtrus, and resin hops really slam hard on the palate. I love the mouthfeel on this...so hoppy but so smooth for a 10% abv. appears golden to amber usually see a darker look to 10% DIPAs.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled on 4/9/20102, This Imperial IPA pours an orange copper color from a 12oz bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head with nice retention and good lacing. The aroma is grapefruity, piney, fruity and sweet, with some more hop aroma at the end. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet, orange and orange peel. The hop, my oh my, the hops, are grapefruity and piney and the some more grapefruity and piney. If you couldn’t tell it’s a really hoppy beer. Lots of reisny bitterness and lots of hops flavor. Decent carbonation. A big bad IPA. A reported 149 IBUs, but there is a nice malt backbone trying to come out from behind all those hops. Very nicely done. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is very bitter.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From the bottle poured a golden brew with a light head. Stink foot and malt aromas. Strongly hopped, sweet, with a lingering hop finish that you have to scrape off your tounge.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On draft at The Local Beer Bar in Eureka, CA, Poured a clear amber with good sized white head. Nose is like shoving a grapefruit up your nose but after the initial shock there is some fruit as well. Medium in body. Med body. Flavor is a blast of hops, but there is some malts there too The bitterness is incredible, but somehow it is not overwhelming and it masks the alcohol well. A long bitter finish. LOVE this beer.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
The complex taste of this beer makes you want to take your time with it and explore. As previously said, the high bitterness rate, not to mention the high ABV, make this one a sipper for sure. Save this beer for later in the night - it really will wreck your palate. Very solid beer.
