COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA we have ever brewed—mashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isn’t for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

Bottle from Total Wine - Pours a crystal clear copper color with a one and a half finger thick off white head. Light spotty lacing. Aroma is big pine, resin, and floral hops. Flavor is also big pine and resin hops. The resin hop flavor really lingers in the finish. Medium body. This beer is a hop lovers delight.

golden with slight white head, pine, floral and fruity notes. For such a hop assault it has enough malt to present it on in a balanced way. Alcohol well hidden in a medium bodied ale. Terrific

Cask version at Winking Lizard’s 4th Annual Real Ale Fest (03/24/12): The beer is a slightly hazy copper-orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium to full body with a moderately bitter citrusy hops character and notes of biscuit malt, pine and caramel. The finish is hoppy with a lingering citrus aftertaste. Good beer overall.

On tap at the Common Table in Dallas. The beer pours a clear gold/yellow-orange color with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the hops. I get a lot of orange citrus and pine notes, as well as some caramel malt to keep things balanced. The flavor is definitely all about the hops. I get a ton of bitterness as well as some bitter oranges and pine notes. The caramel malt is hidden in the background and plays a secondary role. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Pours a burnt orange golden color. Aroma is very slight with almost no smell but just bitterness in the nose. Slight head with nice lacing hanging on. Taste lives up to its name. It is pure bitter hops with no floral notes, maybe some flight grapefruit. Really hits you after with pure bite on the side of the tongue. Big beer with a straight forward bitter attitude. Tasted on tap on Tucson. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours orange-amber with a short, foamy tan head. Strong resinous piney nose with citrus notes, floral and spicy hops and caramel. Taste is big pine, citrus notes, tropical fruit, caramel, spicy hops, sweet malt and wet hops. Body is medium-full with a syrupy and resinous feel and bubbly carbonation. Ends with more pine, tropical fruit, citrus oils, caramel and fresh hop notes.

Pours super clear amber color. The aroma is bursting with dank Columbus hop aroma, some citrus and pine notes in the background are not worth ignoring. Medium body with pungent hops all the way though the beer. Bitter with lingering bitterness, the 9.5% ABV is barley noticeable. Clean fermentation with hops sticking around long after each intense sip. Solid A. Check out my full review on youtube hopsandvines beer reviews. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-_Xl5z1XTM

This one starts off really nice by having a solid nose. Tropical fruits, pine, and a small malt backbone. Loved the smell. The taste is where it falls apart a little bit for me. Up front this beer is lovely, once again it’s full of tropical fruits. Nice and hoppy, then mid palate the hoppiness stops and a huge dose of alcohol makes it way in. Just pretty much kills the beer. I really wanted to love this beer, really did.

Draft at yardhouse Palmdale. Pours cear and deep golden with a small head. Aroma is pine and orange. Mouthful is big bursting orange bitterness... Like an orange rind marinated in pine sap. Finish lingers for an enjoyable mouthwatering moment or two or three. Nothing much balanced about this beer, but for a hop head... Does that matter?? Will have a couple of those pints!

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2012 Pours a golden orange with a nice one finger foamy off white head. Aroma is intense with a lot of floral citrus, pine resin, tropical fruits, biscuit malts, and grass. Taste is of pine resin, grapefruit rind, limes, tropical fruits, biscuit malt, fresh cut grass, and some caramel. has a medium-full body with a creamy and slightly oily mouthfeel, nice carbonation, a semi dry, bitter finish. overall, a very drinkable and tasty DIPA with the 9.5% ABV very well hidden.
