Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA we have ever brewed—mashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isn’t for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

On tap at Oggi’s in Mission Vision. This beer is excellent! This is a true west coast ipa. Big hop nose and finish. Citrus bomb. I didn’t realize abv until I looked it up. I can drink this all day long.

Fuck yeah this is the shit right here. Big resinous huge hoppy nose. Citrus, pine, dank, grapefruit. Fuck yeah. Malt bill is lightly sweet with just a hint of caramel. Pours golden orange, great clarity, almost oily looking head from the resins. Nice. Flavor is big and hoppy. Lots of citrus, dank, and pine. Light pale malt sweetness, hints of caramel. Big citrus bite in the back end. Hugely resinous, nice biterness. Flavors linger on the lips and tongue forever. Drinks insanely well for 9.5% FUck yeah this is how I like it. I will be buying mroe. Boom!

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 This is a good one. Pours a clear, copper color with about a quarter inch of thick, foamy head. Strong hop aroma. Flavor is quite biting--there’s a definite tang of hop bitterness (resin?) that’s quite apparent in the forefront. Complex combination of citrus and hop flavors that finishes quite bitter (almost too much so). Worth checking out for the hop fiend.

On tap at Flying Saucer Sugarland. Pours clear reddish amber with tall light tan head. Aroma is all hops and fruit. Oily mouthfeel. Pine resin, melon, citrus, some caramel sweetness, huge bitter lasting hop finish. Wow! Definitely a sipper, this one. Alcohol is well-hidden but warming all the way down. A great big hop bomb.

12 oz bottle. Clear amber with a balsa head. Nose is scallion, caramel and unripe cantaloupe; odd one. Resiny medium body with a lingering buzz. Taste is caramel, bitter grass and orange peel; earthy with lemon basil. Long peppery finish. A hop bomb with some restraint.

this is a pretty interesting and obviously huge iiipa. it has a huge bitter preence upfront, but whats nice about this beer is that it fades away nicely into a fruity andsweeter hop profile, then a slightly bready and sweet malt profiile, not a huge lasting bitterness on this one which makes the intenseity palateable for an entire 22oz bottle. great stuff, not an everydayer but nice for a jolt!

Clear golden hue. Palate shows plenty of bitter citrus and pine but there's also plenty of sweet pineapple too. Palate is almost all grapefruit, dry citric an bitter. Just the way I like em.

On tap in a tulip at Flanny’s. Pours an orangish amber with a thick, frothy two-finger head that dissipates quickly. A strong citrus aroma with hints of wood. A holy hop bomb taste to start with a very bitter, dry finish that lingers with a slight, pleasantly hoppy aftertaste. Medium body with an astringent mouthfeel. It’s a solid, hoppy DIPA, but I guess I was expecting more with a name like Palate Wrecker.

Taste truly shocks the palate upon initial sipping. Deep malty characteristic with quite an taste of the 9.5%. Lacing is as expected with a imperial ipa, strungout all over the glass. Taste is super malty with a hint and I mean hint of fruit... grapefruit. This isn’t my favorite 9%+ ipa but I love Green Flash and this 148 ibus don’t go unnoticed.
