Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA we have ever brewed—mashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isn’t for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2013 Tap @ Yard House, Las Vegas 19/04/12. Pours a dark amber with a large, yellowish-brown head. Aroma is pith, caramel, pine. Taste is somewhat sweet with caramel in the beginning with the superbly stiff and bitter hops taking over with pith and some pine in the finish. Palate is surprisingly smooth and full. Very pleasant.

12oz bottle, split 3 ways. Thin khaki head. Clear amber color. Bit of lace. Very nice assertive hoppy nose. Nice grapefruit aromas. Big bitter taste. Good light carbonation and dry texture. Delightful

On tap at Ray's. Clear light golden, decent off white head. Nose was fresh green, resin, grapefruit. Huge bitterness and dry with tons of hop resin. Pretty unbalanced but hey, it's a hop bomb. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Capone’s. Pours coppery with off-white stingy head. Nose was caramel malt, pineapple, black pepper, hopcitrus. Tasted very resiny hoppy with a huge tangeriney and pineapply finish. This one is a world class IPA.

Bottle. Pours amber with white head. Aroma has plastic, Carmel, lawn clippings. Smells nice at times but not really a bursting fresh hop expolusion you expect. Flavors are very bitter grapefruit rind, grass, Carmel, citrus finish. It is an onslaught of bitterness but it doesn’t become too much, somehow it’s still drinkable despite the crystal and caramel malt usage. It’d take a paler more straight forward west coast bomb over this easy.

Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy hop aroma. Moderate to heavy bitter flavor with a moderate to heavy bitter finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate alcohol bite at the finish. This is a standout beer.

To me the dominant flavors are pine and an undertone of onion. Very hoppy beer, with a bitterness from start to end. Smooth attractive pour, hoppy nose. I get alcohol notes in both aroma and taste which I would prefer werent there, but this is a good double nonetheless.
