COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA we have ever brewed—mashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isn’t for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

12oz bottle poured into tulip. Hazy copper liquid with a finger of off-white foam that settles to a ring. Some dots of lacing remain on the glass. Aroma is grapefruit peel, orange juice, mint, dank hops, caramel, and bread. Taste is briefly citrus sweet then all is bitterness. Like a walnut meets grapefruit peel, meets pine needles. Medium body, oily texture, moderate carbonation, long bitter finish.

Clear amber, cream head Rich aroma, malts, cream, mou, aromatic hops with bittersweet citrus notes, balsamic notes, light caramel and toffee. Spectacular complex taste. Aggressive herbaceous bitterness well balanced with mellow mou, caramel and aromatic citrus notes. Hoppy aftertaste.

Pours amber-blonde with a big white head and a nose that screams Centennial hops in a loud and beautiful manner. Flavor lives up to its name with an enormous kick of both floral and bitter from an almost silly amount of hops, though it’s quite well balanced by a big sweet malt and the high gravity. Backside is sticky and bitter. This is what big IPAs are all about.

Really love the excessive boldness of the hop aroma, along with the extreme bitter hop flavor. Great bold color and obviously overly strong flavor throughout. Gets almost too bitter by the end, but I like it a lot despite the high cost

Pours a dark gold/amber with a thick white head, lots of lacing on glass. Nice citrus hoppy aroma. Hoppy bitterness right up front when tasted, a little resin flavor follows but nothing over powering easy to drink.

4/18/15 from 20 oz bottle. Nice amber color and one finger head. Interesting sweet aroma unlike any other beer. Smooth and fairly well balanced but a bit on the malty side. 9.5% abv. Worth a second try, ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shiny copper, perfectly clear. One finger of very dense, sticky, sand-colored head becomes a fleece-like top layer and deposits thick, grippy walls of lace. Funky and dank nose. Onions first, then grapefruit, grass, a touch of pineapple, a little baked bread, some caramel. Big bitterness in the flavor. Grapefruit pith, a touch of dank weed, burnt sugar. It’s a little funky. Saltine crackers and a touch of biscuit come out as it warms. Maybe some floral character as well. Thick, syrupy medium body with moderate, pinching carbonation and just a hint of fizz. Alcohol is a mild warming in the throat. Decent. A nice big hop flavor here, and way bitter. It could actually use a little more malt to back it up. Palate not quite wrecked, but definitely bent.

Bottle - Oh Green Flash, why do I even try your beers anymore? If they’re not horribly out-of-date they’re probably huge boozy malt bombs that hide all the grassy, piney, astringent hops that really aren’t my favorite hop blend anyways. I know you’ll have a huge oily body, and your bitter, drying finish won’t be my jam. I’d probably be better served spending my money on fresh, local New Glarus, Ale Asylum, or any other beer that aligns better with my palate. Seriously, what the fuck am I doing?

JKJ &KJK 04/12/2015 very different aromas with and without head. Poured two pints... Very different. Imagine the taste will grow on us, but right now... No. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours with a strong citrous aroma "right off the bat"with a nice creamy head with great lacing. Smell is very floral and very evident. Attractive clear light amber color. Great balance with a strong richness of body. However it is not cloying and has roller coaster complex after-taste, sometimes smokey, then floral, then malty then... I give up! Please go get some! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
