Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA we have ever brewed—mashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isn’t for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

Pours amber with a thin white head. Grapefruit, citrus, grass, and dank earthy notes. Very bitter with a sweetness that quickly fades to a grapefruit pith aftertaste that lingers on. The mouthfeel is smooth with some warming alcohol and a moderate carbonation level that tingles on the tongue. Very good double IPA

This beer which led to me trying the reformulation of west coast IPA is the reason I keep trying new beers. Too many were getting too juicy and too tropical. This is closer to a barleywine imo but it can also be a unique double IPA I guess. Traditional west coast hop pine citrus dankness are combine with a toffee malt background strong in the profile. The hops totally prevailed yet the balance is there. A heavy presence of bothThe alcohol is well hid but the thick flavors of this beer it!s a sipper. Though one may be able to sip many.

Pours from 12 oz bottle a dark amber with off-white head. Aroma of strong sticky hop resin, grass, pine, and bitter grapefruit. Taste is -- not surprisingly -- more strong hop flavors: big bitter grapefruit, sticky pine/resin, spicy hops and field grass. Well made and delicious DIPA, once again GF does it.

Bottle at CASC. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of... not very much. Faint whiff of pine and citrus. Flavour of honey, raw hops, orange and grapefruit. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium body with an oily texture. Light fizz. Massively bitter but more balanced than I thought it would be.

Bottle at Casc. Pours a slight hazed Amber gold with a oily froth head which lasts. Aroma is disappointing. Slight grass and boozy raisin. Flavour is intense bitter pine with a boozy raisin thrown in. Not as good as I was expecting but still quite nice.

I like this. Wrecks my insides more than my palate. Some fruit flavors remains, apricots, other very ripe orange fruit or dried fruit. Good for burping too :). Gift from uckelman who got it at the De Molen shop durings Borefts.

bombers of this are outrageously expensive and i was unable to break up a 4-pack to buy singles. fuck. not worth the expense. aroma: multiple-ipa. appearance: multiple-ipa. taste: bitter, all right. lots of alcohol. so if you want really bitter and lots of alcohol, this is for you. palate: not exactly wrecked; actually decent. 7/10

had it early in the fest, and given the bitterness of west coast (not to mention the name of this brew) it was surprisingly NOT a palate wrecker. hoppy? you betcha, but more balanced than west coast and not as bitter as their bottled imperial. not quite as good as those two either, but not bad...just a touch sub par for GF. Fresh bottle 4+. Chewy, hoppy, malty sweet."
