If Green Flash were founded in historical Belgium, Rayon Vert would have been our flagship brew. A bold layering of hops finds balance from traditional malts. Bottle conditioning with fresh ale yeast and Brettanomyces finishes the beer, adding a delightful effervescence, dryness and continuously evolving character. Rayon Vert is Green Flash.

Excellent Orval clone. Intense perfume and orange nose. Balance of sweetness and spice on the palate. Only knocking it down a few points because it’s a clone. But brilliant 6 pack

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 Deep copper/amber body, large fluffy off-white head, good sheet-like lacing. Bretty, to say the least. Wet hay, must, light citrus, wheat, and pale malts dominate both the flavor and the nose. Medium bodied, easy to drink with a nice effervescent carbonation. A very interesting beer that does suggest Orval -- although not exactly a clone. Should be interesting to see how this progresses with time in the cellar.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of lemony, hay, caramel, yeast, and fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, yeast, spices, caramel, fruits, and hops, leading to a dry yeasty finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours golden with a slight haze and a rich and frothy white head leaving a neat lacework. Heavy Brett aroma, rough and leathery. Medium body, a very dry fruitiness, massive Brett, has a somewhat unfortunate chemical tang - probably from the Brett. Somewhat astringent, again massive leather. Sort of an Orval clone, just far from that beers sophistication. 230512

Poured from the tap at Pizza Port Solana Beach. Pours to a hazy, orange with a clear white head and great lacing. The aroma is strong on the front end. One smells that delicious Belgian yeastiness and herbs. The taste is a bit sour and coats the sides of the tongue, then yields to a nice malty back end. Very nice brew.

Terrible!!! I hope it had gone off due to transport because this was appalling. I couldn’t even bring myself to finish it.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2013 Bottle @ Big Star. Pours a hazy light orange with a gold hue and a bubbly white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a good amount of citrus with a bit of light fruit and backing sweet grains and Belgian yeast. Flavor begins with strong citrus that has a slight bitter note and is backed by Belgian yeast and grains.
