COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If Green Flash were founded in historical Belgium, Rayon Vert would have been our flagship brew. A bold layering of hops finds balance from traditional malts. Bottle conditioning with fresh ale yeast and Brettanomyces finishes the beer, adding a delightful effervescence, dryness and continuously evolving character. Rayon Vert is Green Flash.

The beer pours a golden-orange color with a white head. The aroma is very nice. I get a ton of brett, as well as some nice leather notes. Hidden in the background are some spice and orange citrus notes. The flavor is more of the same. What stands out the most is the brett and orange notes, but there is also quite a bit of leather and white pepper mixed in. The beer is very dry. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very, very nice.

Well, I love Green Flash brews, maybe this was just a poor evaluation after the Hess IPA, but to me Rayon Vert translated into green plastic and I could not shake that association. I am thinking this is more likely a classic Belgian pale with a little overexuberance on the hops rather than the more trendy IPA with a Belgian yeast and so may rating may reflect different expectations.

12oz into sniffer... ridiculous head. seriously 3-4 fingers. Smell is hard to place. I think Iím getting banana and maybe some melon or something like that. Very light and sweet smelling. Tastes sweet and funky, no bitterness that I can detect. I think itís delicious.

Pours a cloudy gold with a huge head. Slight banana aroma, and sour flavor. Maybe I should wait until the head is gone tomorrow.

Pours a a dark hazy golden with a full foamy head that lasts a long time. Aroma is floral and grassy. Contains some citrus fruit elements; orange, pineapple, along with apple. Taste is quite hoppy, although it is not overpoweringly so. It is spicy, and tart, while the citrus from the aromas is most present in the flavor. Smooth all around.

Holy Schmoly this is going to be a great summer. This beer is just right for a hot day so refreshing. Aroma is pinapple, pear, candy, floral, lavender, hay and grass with some sweet earthiness Appearance is the only thing really lacking. HUGE white head that turns to merengue and never leaves. Cloudy yellow with nonstop champagne like bubbles. Honestly a head this big is kind of annoying. Taste. Is aroma with sweetness on the tongue and a super refreshing cleanliness to the palate that just leaves you wanting another sip. Overall Iím sorry itís already gone form my glass and Iím looking forward to my next.

2 Apr 2012, bottle, pinkish orange, slightly hazy, steady bubbles, foamy head fades fast. wild nose, so much happening. Brett yeast is first and strongest with the faintest of belgian strong ale alcohol in the background. med/thin body and a bit fizzy. has a certain earthy, cobweb taste, straw, some twinges of sour, and a dried grassy hop flavor. it wouldnít have been my flagship beer but it has some nice elements.

(12oz bottle). Pours hazy orange-golden with off-white head. Aroma is belgian yeast, citrus, and a little earthiness. Taste is sweet with some more earthiness and some mild bitterness. Medium bodied and oily with a drier finish. Pretty decent, considering I donít care much for the style.

Bottle at the Flying Saucer, Nashville. Cloudy orange, big dense white head. Smells awesome - bretty funk, Citrus hops, some bubblegum and banana. Like a hoppier Orval, I suppose. Lots of funky notes, plus some fruit. Piney, sticky hops in the finish. I really dug this stuff...

Drank this pretty damn quick, probably one of the better belgian pale ale I have had for a long while, appearance was good, aroma fragrant and taste was grassy lemon brett and light spice. Very drinkable for me.
