COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If Green Flash were founded in historical Belgium, Rayon Vert would have been our flagship brew. A bold layering of hops finds balance from traditional malts. Bottle conditioning with fresh ale yeast and Brettanomyces finishes the beer, adding a delightful effervescence, dryness and continuously evolving character. Rayon Vert is Green Flash.

Bottle at Brew Dog Nottingham. Claims to be Belgian style and I’d agree - has that tart, almost lambic bitterness well balanced with sweet(ish) grapefruit and Jelly Babies. Crisp and clean. Clear orange with a nice big head. Nice rough tang to the feel. Citrus aroma. Yes.

Feels like an over carbonated orval with american citrusy hops.

Poured into tulip glass, high carbonation. Funky tarty aroma, sour tasty with a touch of bitterness, once your pallet gets used to this it’s actually very nice!

Bottle. Unclear light orange with a huge foamy off white head. Strong bretty nose with some tropical fruit beneath. Aroma follows, though not as bretty as expected from the nose, leaving room for fruity notes. Ends a bit abrupt, but good and refreshing. Taste is medium sweet and light/medium bitter. Medium body, oily texture, medium carbonation. Good balance between sweet, bitter and dry makes good drinkability.

Malty aroma. Dark amber appearance. Quite hoppy and floral, but well balanced.

Pour slowly, some crazy carbonation going on. Huge banana nose for me. Predominantly banana and clove with lemon and crisp apple also. Nice hops balance this one. Solid

Bottle Poured into glass. Huge aggressive head. Pour extremely slow! Hazy yellow pour with a huge sudsy white head. Lemon and citrus hops dominate the nose. Taste is lemon and citrus up front that moves into a hot malt body with some brett funkiness and a bitter lemon hop finish. Lots of carbonation. Crisp.

I can see why people like this beer. I think it is a bit overrated though. I like the sour aroma. There is something soapy I don’t like. Nice to look at. A color that says hops. Grapefruit rind. Can’t say I would want to revisit this again. It gave me a massive headache.

While I appreciate the Belgian characteristics here, it is much too hoppy. The hops just kind of dominate everything and it is not very balanced so it makes me kind of disappointed :-( ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amber color, very white, soapy and lasting head. Marked lace. Yeasty aromas, slightly acid cider-like. This overpass any other aroma. The taste is rough, also yeasty like horse blanket and some hops. Refreshing, well carbonated, but in the overall is unbalanced and hoi-poloi. Forgettable.

Bottle, dated July 2012. Pours with extremely high carbonation of brilliant white, large bubbles. Colour underneath a reddish-tinted gold. Strong bretty smell of sour funk and green apples. Taste has mild hop bitterness with aggressive Brettanomyces character. More apple-like tinge. Refreshing, though maybe a bit one-dimensional?
