Green Flash has DONE IT--recreated Orval! Yes, my jaded friends...THIS IS IT , BABY...the "gout de Orval"...the heaping, meringue-like, foamy head...the medicinal notes...the amber cast...the funky, wild, seductive yeast and the sublimely herbaceous notes of hop-vines, writ large!
This the REAL DEAL!!!!!!!
DEMAND you drink it! (And, NO--despite my SD locus--I’m NOT affiliated with the ’FLASHERS!")

Green Flash Rayon Vert has an extremely thick, whipped cream-type off-white head (actually it exploded everywhere when I popped the cap) and a brilliant, reddish-orange appearance, with some streaming bubbles and about the thickest lacing imaginable present on the glass. The aroma is fruit forward, with orange peel, orange juice, sugar, and possibly even Orange Julius in the smell. Taste is of the highest order- fruit, Mandarin orange, marmalade, orange peel, orange rind, white bread, white bread crust, sugar, yeast, a mild hop bitterness, and white pepper. Mouthfeel is light to medium and slick, and Green Flash Rayon Vert (Green Flash, in English) finishes mostly dry, smooth, mellow, and supremely drinkable. Overall, this is world class to the hilt. Incredible!

i’m not even going to bother to try and separate all the flavour here. all the aromatics, fruits, spices. the only two things to really mention are one, the head on this thing is ridiculous, 6 inches high without even an inch in the glass, and two, this is the best beer i’ve ever had.

Love Green Flash! This is a very well rounded brew. Great on its own or good with BBQ. Smooth & malty with a subtle hop finish. I could drink one of these every day!

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 mensch (205) - Loveland, Colorado, USA - JUN 2, 2012
I’ve cellared this bottle for several months; it was much hoppier and less sour when fresh. Gloriously bright copper-yellow. Thick, rocky and lasting white foam. Strong, spritzy lemon-yeasty aroma, still with some grapefruit and floral hop notes. Intense and complex mix of flavors, sour lemon drop candy plays with hop flavors and a lingering sour/dry finish. Freakin’ incredible and keeps getting better.

22 oz. Hazy, light amber with a billowing Belgian head that lasts. Bold, crisp nose of fresh citrus fruit mix, earth spice mix, sticky resin, bubblegum, and peppery zest. A strong foundation of caramel holds all the sassy flavors up very well, without intruding. The citrus zest, resin, and a touch of Brett linger for a dry finish. Light-medium body is surprisingly smooth, nicely hopped to the dry side, and way too drinkable. A near-perfect melding of some of the best traits of Belgian and West Coast brews.

Amazing beer! Maybe GF should ditch the Cali hop bomb for Belgian Styles cause this little charmer rocks the house! Poured at a good temperature with a colossal, off-white, foamy, uber frothy, billowy head that lasts a loooong time and some clingy lace. Color is a clear honey amber with loads of small bubble trails. Aroma is spice, herbal, yeast, fruit, malt, and very complex. Flavor’s similar to nose; bitter and tang are predominant while not being overdone and still, with the other qualities, still enticing. Body is lively, a tad thin, but still good. Finish is like flavor, long, and in spite of boldness, quite drinkable. World class beer! Hope to try it on draft.

Wow just fantastic. Reminds me of a JP Oro. Nice sweet fruity flavor with a small bit of sour. Very smooth mouth feel. A little dry, but the aroma is knock down gorgeous.

355 ml. ugly stumpy bottle @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Thanks to Wilson. No date but a fresh bottle. Hazy bright orange with a big fluffy creamy white head, slowly collapsing. Cork dry with huge dry brett profile, light funk, dry Belgian yeast, light hay and dry fruity hop bitterness, dry hay, white pepper, white bread, light oranges, green grass & med. floral. Really dries out thanks to the big brett profile. Highly excellent, I get the Orval comparison but Orval has many more layers going on. Wilson commented about my fondness of this as “You really like things which are not meant to be drank by humans”. Best review ever.

Very nice IPA. Some citrus and pine, serious amounts really, which is accentuated by the Belgian yeast giving it a nice saison-like funk. Tried at the burger bar in Lawrence in 2012.
