.65 bottle @ Vihreä Haltiatar Pours a bit hazy yellow with hi head. Aroma is fruity. Yeast, malts and corn. Flavor is malts, alcohol, yeast and citrus fruits. Nice fizzy palate.

0,65l bottle from Vihreä Haltiatar. Pours slightly cloudy golden with a very high head. Aroma is malts, yeast and grapefruit. Flavor is malts, yeast, alcohol, grapefruit and hops with a high carbonation. Pretty decent!

Ridiculous carbonation. I love plenty of fruit flavours in my beer: citrics, apples, peaches, mangoes, apricots etc, but for fuck’s sake, what clown ever thought banana flavour would taste good in a beer? I’ve tried plenty of banana beers and they all suck. The banana flavour just dominates and stomps all over everything. This one is a little different, the banana is more in the back seat, and I may come to like this beer because... er, ok, maybe not. Not when the world is full of so many other beers that you don’t have to go hunting for the deliciousness in. New World beers rock.

Bottle. Dark gold pour with a slight haze and a beautiful frothy white head that left lots of lacing. The nose is quite a decent effort at attempting to clone Orval. Nice light bretty notes that play well with the dry bready maltiness and a beautiful floral hoppiness. A little tropical fruitiness and cotton candy like notes. The flavor isn’t quite as refined and nuanced as the original though. It’s got the nice subtle hoppiness and dryness of the original, but the malt is a bit heavier and the carbonation level is a little too lively and fizzy, causing it to froth up and ruin the mouthfeel a bit. Lighter bodied with that intense carbonation level, it finishes dry with a floral hop note. Pretty decent beer, but I think for the buck and change more it costs for an Orval I’d pick that over this anytime.

Pours a hazy light golden rusty color with a large off beige head. Nose is yeasty and spicy with predominance of cloves and some banana. Strong belgian yeast up front with spicy cloves and cardamon. Finish is dry with moderate lingering, and nice lacing. Not a big Belgian Ale drinker, but will rate on style. Quaff Score 7/ 10

Pours orange with a beige head and aroma of zesty lemon, cloves, and yeast. Taste is similar, lots of yeast, lemon, cloves, and spices with a yeasty finish.

Picked up at the COOP a couple nights ago.. off white head blooms up to an easy 3"... too much!! The brew is fairly clear light orange... the head takes FOREVER to die back.. great lacing. The nose is definitely bretty... more than I was expecting.. dusty green apple skins.. something that I associate with lemon zest.. or even Lemon Pledge.. lite fusel alcohols... minor peppery notes and a bit more apricot with warmth. Ridiculously dry... light plastic/vinyl phenols with warmth.. light lemon.. the RIGID drying almost tannic quality of this beer is not gonna be for everybody including me... Carbonation is almost abrasive.. the body is light magnified by the huge CO2. I respect this beer and appreciate the brett character, but it is just over the top. Not my cup of beer.

Pours a cloudy golden-yellow with very big head. Aroma full of fruit esters--almost seems more like a wheat beer. Flavor is not much like a pale ale--the brett yeast (or whatever it is) kind of dominates the proceedings. Not sure why you’d want to put that in a pale ale in the first place. As others have noted, this is also a very fizzy, overly-carbonated beer. Didn’t care for this one.

Bottle. Aroma is basic bretta lambic with lemon and orange peel. Flavor is quite mild with bretta, white pepper, lemon and minimal hops with bitterness. Damn this is loaded with co2! Makes this even a bit hard to drink. Not much of a pale ale, minimal hops and some additional bitterness. Thin obviously and overly carbonated.

Le liquide est orangé trouble avec un col de mousse blanc-cassé qui est large accompagné par une dentelle qui s’accroche partiellement.Au nez, poussière (de grange),les bretts,herbes fraîches et les cerises sûres.au goût,plutôt liquide,les épices douces et les bretts avec une bonne effervescence qui vient bien assécher la bouche en finale.Une belgian pale ale tout à fait réussi qui de plus me fait passer aux club des 100 rates sans déception.Cheer’s !
