If Green Flash were founded in historical Belgium, Rayon Vert would have been our flagship brew. A bold layering of hops finds balance from traditional malts. Bottle conditioning with fresh ale yeast and Brettanomyces finishes the beer, adding a delightful effervescence, dryness and continuously evolving character. Rayon Vert is Green Flash.

(12oz bottle). Pours hazy orange-golden with off-white head. Aroma is belgian yeast, citrus, and a little earthiness. Taste is sweet with some more earthiness and some mild bitterness. Medium bodied and oily with a drier finish. Pretty decent, considering I donít care much for the style.

Bottle at the Flying Saucer, Nashville. Cloudy orange, big dense white head. Smells awesome - bretty funk, Citrus hops, some bubblegum and banana. Like a hoppier Orval, I suppose. Lots of funky notes, plus some fruit. Piney, sticky hops in the finish. I really dug this stuff...

Drank this pretty damn quick, probably one of the better belgian pale ale I have had for a long while, appearance was good, aroma fragrant and taste was grassy lemon brett and light spice. Very drinkable for me.

Bottle from Total Wine, Sacramento. Pours cloudy golden wth a massive beige head and a banana aroma. There is a fresh hop and caramel malt flavor with a huge yeast presence and a dry bitter finish. Quite complex for a Belgian style ale.

Pours a light amber color with a huge white head. A really nice Brett character. Heavy on the fruit (especially apple), a bit of pear, lots of straw and grass, and a mild spice. Some bread and cracker and a light citric quality on the finish. The flavor is slightly tart and citrusy with lemon and lime notes. Light tropical fruit character as well as some pear and apple. Good bread and a mild spice note to it as well. Really nice.

Pours an orange copper color with a big fluffy lively head that puffed out of the glass.... Definitely some brettanomyces in there, great barnyard aromas with a underlying sour citrus notes. The flavor explodes just like the aroma with a great rustic backbone rounded out with citrusy hop bitterness and a quality finish.

Has a wildly fragrant aroma that really comes through. Pours golden with a thick head. Taste is mild all around, not being overpowering in any respect.

The word Belgian is misleading here. IPA, or even pale ale would be more appropriate. The malt is there early, followed by an unusual semi-sweet hop flavor bringing up the rear. Reasonable, not complex, a little heavy.

12oz Bottle, purchased at Wakefield Liquor - Wakefield, RI. Slightly styrofoamy aroma, with a bit of hop pungency. Spicy and Orval-like. Well carbonated and explosive, as a good Belgian Ale should be. This really reminds me of super-fresh Orval, with more hops. I guess thatís what itís going for. A little less malt complexity. This is nicely drinkable, but thereís not a lot hitting home in the end flavorwise and the palate is really light. Thatís fine, if Iím paying $1.69, but for the $3.39 I had to shell out for 12oz, Iíd like a little more action, please.
