3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Drake (6503) - Ivy, Virginia, USA - JUL 8, 2012Served on draft at Beer Run. I’m not sure what makes this retro, or a different beer from the Extra Pale at all, so I fully expect this rating to be merged at some point. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized head. Poor head retention. Aroma of herbal, peppery and earthy malts. The taste is sweet malts, earth, peppery and herbal hops. Medium bodied with a lingering bitterness. Nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jjuf1853 (1157) - Land O Lakes, Florida, USA - SEP 28, 2012
Draft at Trinity Brass Tap. Pours a clear gold color with a thin white blanket for a head. Some residual lacing along the side of the glass. Mild aroma with subdued hop notes and some fruity notes as well. Flavor is decent, but definitely mildly hopped compared to most present day American Pale Ales. Interesting concept though to travel back in time with a recipe that has IMHO improved over the years.
