12 oz. bottle from Root Cellar. Pours a pretty deep but clear amber with a finger of off-white head that laces the glass heavily. Aroma of tea, rye, brown sugar, earth, sweet bread, grass, and grapefruit peel. Flavor of rye, tea, brown sugar, leaves, toast, earth, and citrus peel. Light-medium bodied, with a citrusy, tea-like, bitter, mildly spicy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Good rye IPA.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark amber color, clean, with compact head. The aroma has some alcohol and fusels. Overall it’s a very caramelly brew, a bit chewy, although not thick or sweet; the hopping is quite resiny and a bit fruity too, very bitter; some alcohol perception.
