4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap pour at Muddy Pig in a tulip glass. Commonshawn in the house as well. Very attractive reddish hue and almost a full finger of slightly tinted white head. Aroma is typical of a heavy handed IPA with hops and a bready characteristic. Taste has the rye, bready spice quality that you expect. Well balanced against a healthy dose of hops. Little malty sweetness but nothing substantial. Really one of the better options of this style. Comparable to the Lagunitas Imperial Red. Iím go to war on the road with this effort.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Deep copper hue, good clarity. A finger of frothy tan head deposits nice lacing. The nose: caramel, burnt sugar, rye bread, crust. Juicy hop character -- weed, guava, orange, pineapple. Rye adds an intriguing background note thatís almost musty. Big hops up front in the flavor. Resinous, with grapefruit, guava, pineapple, mango and grass. Finish has a toasted malt character thatís metallic and peppery. Fluffy medium body; moderate CO2; high bitterness. Tastes exactly like what youíd expect from reading the description.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Dark for an IPA but this beer has it all! Deep west coast hop aroma. Bitterness and rye spice that really makes this beer shine. Iíll drink lots more of this.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at sb. Pours a murky very dark amber with rubied edges. Loose creamy tan head. Decent lace. Big malty sweet nose, with heavy rye spice, vaguely reminds me of the nutty smell from a payday candy bar. Creamy thickish body. Rye spice, darkly toasted caramel, and candied toasted peanuts in the background on the mid palate. Long sweetish finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle served in a shaker- poured a transparent copper color with brown tint, 3mm white head that laced extremely well upon the vessel. Aroma of deep woods pine (different from regular pine- trust me), rye, and grapefruit. Hits the mouth with a wide body, malt was just soaked in caramel but it comes out in the end because hops kick in the door in the middle, finish is actually somewhat drying, yet sharply acidic from said hop barrage. Very nice brew.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, shared at the lake with Parksy and others on May long weekend. Pours a surprisingly dark burnt orange, with a frothy lasting white head. Big ruby grapefruit hop character, some pine, sweet malts, very bitter finish. Iíd be lying yo say that I can pick up any rye character, but thatís not a criticism. A really great imperial red ale.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Green flash knows their IPA, and this one is no exception, pours thick with and has an elaborate cream head. Aroma is hard floral bitter, touch of caramel. Slightly husky but not overly negative. Hop bitter is strong but evens out nicely. High abv but it hides, drink carefully
