Absolutely gorgeous, red with a white head. The aroma has some sweet malt with some caramel and grass. The flavor has a bit of Belgium to it. A bit sweet with some spice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark, clear, copper-red, with mid-sized, pillowy head. Aroma is full of dank, spicy hops, some citrus rind, and even a touch of candy sugar. Flavor is bitter, hops-front IPA, with citrus flavors and even a touch of underlying sweetness. This is a rye-PA done right.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Fuller’s London Pride pint glass From: VONS in Montecito (Santa Barbara), Calif. Price: $11.99 (w/ a VONS card) for a 4-pack Purchased: May 23, 2014 Consumed: May 23, 2014 Misc.: Blank spot after the born on date Poured a dark caramel, amber, semi-clear color with two fingers of khaki white head. Kind of a serene look. Average amount of spotty lacing along the sides of the glass. Average retention. Smelled a potent mix of hoops to start. Floral hops, citrus hops, Amarillo hops, mosaic hops, rye hops, grapefruit, boozy alcohol, mouthwash and grapefruit rind. Very nice on the nose. Taste was not as good as the nose. Bitter earthy rye hops, floral hops, mosaic hops, caramel, boozy alcohol, citrus hops and grapefruit. It grew on me as it went down. Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long bitter finish. This beer really grew on me as it went along, making me want another sip. Very addicting.

12oz bottle shared, pours a dark ruby red with white head. Decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is the spiciness of the rye and plenty of hops. Mostly of citrus and some grass. The flavor is brilliance of spicy rye and hops and malt blended perfectly together. Overall very drinkable and very good.

Bottle. Pours with a deep hazed copper hue body with a large off-white head. Aromas are of mosaic’s tropical resiny blueberry-ish character, fruity, earthy, mild DMTS. Some sweet malt notes. Flavors are of really sweet lipton iced tea. Way too much caramel and crystal malt flavors for me. Sticky. Some resin, citrus, rye, mosaic. Like dry hopped iced tea. Thick bodied, sticky, medium carbonation.

On tap at argosy. Pours a deep red almost brown with no head big juicy citrus aromas. Much the same in the flavor with a little more resiny pine on the back end of the palate. Caramel and toffee toasty grain for body. Nice.

12oz bottle into a snifter. Pours a clear dark brown with a one finger medium tan head. Ok head retention but the lacing is amazing. Aroma is full of roast and brown sugar with that distinct spicy rye character that I love so much. A nice kick of pine from the hops backed by more roast. Mouth watering. The flavor kicks the rye and pine up another notch while throwing more roast into the mix. The piny hops and rye spiciness go together perfectly providing an intense bitterness and nearly intense roasty spice. Very slick, oily mouthfeel with moderate sweetness in the finish. Overall, a very nice beer if you love rye beers and very drinkable at 9%. One to pick up.

12oz bottle. Pours clear dark honey color with burnt orange hues. Aroma of rye, tangerine, pine, caramel. Flavor is spicy, rye, pine, molasses, citrus. This is a really awesome beer with spicy, bitter, and sweetness all in one.
