2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
JJ and tasting. The opposite of what you think an IPA should be. Malt forward..like fast forward. Pours Amber, smells like malt, tastes like malt and gives a little hoppy after taste. More of an amber ale than IPA for this duo. Despite the low-ish score, I'd buy it again.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours clear medium amber with three fingers of light beige head diminishing gradually to a thick cap and chunky lacing. (4/5) Nose is caramel malt, rye, mild citrus, black pepper. (6/10) Taste is mild sweet, strong bitter, mild peppery spice. (8/10) Medium body, moderate carbonation, with an off-dry building bitter finish. (3/5)
I do like me a rye IPA - the sharpness of the rye malt tends to play well with the traditional IPA hop bitterness. And I usually enjoy Green Flash’s offerings. That’s not to say I don’t like this one - I do - but it’s just a little on the aggressive side when it comes to the bittering. Good, but not their best. (14/20)

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of citrus and pine hops, with sweet, spicy malt notes. Sweet, bready, malty flavour, with hoppy character, and a delicious bitter finish. Is this the first time I have a truly imperial rye ipa? It’s a great match
