Pours a deep ruby, quickly dissipating head, subtle aroma. Shocked this is 9%, very smooth rye IIPA. Awful packaging/design, but the contents are top notch. Glad I have several more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Hazy, dark amber. Head is white towards latte, kinda small, but good retention. Nose is caramel, resin, spice. Nice balance on the palate. Getting some sweetness and spices, then it fades into a grapefruity bitterness.

Bottle. A hazy, amber colored beer topped by a small, dense, light beige colored head. The aroma has some caramel and spicy notes, with a good dash of piney and resiny hops. Grapefruit peel. Its full bodied and lightly warming on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Resins, grapefruity, spicy maltyness and some caramel in the flavor, lasting for a good while, with a fine bitterness. Quite nice this one, but Im sure itd be better when fresh. 141018

Aroma: heavy flowers, some ripe fruits, green tea. Appearance: clear, dark amber, hardly any head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: bitters intensify heavily, floral hops, straw, heavy ripe fruits. Overall: OK IIPA, yet struggles to stand out. Pint at Green Flash Brewing Company, San Diego.

The first smell is not very fresh. Aged bottle? Unable to check, because there is no date on the bottle or the cap. Aroma: caramel, dried figs and prunes, pine, hops. Taste: sweet, dried fruits and tart, piney. Agressively sharp. Very bitter.

Poured a deep garnet with a big fluffy head with very nice lacing. Soft nose and in the mouth it is very well balanced. Could have used just a tad more spice from the rye.

Aroma pine, grapefruit and mint. The flavor is grapefruit, rye, earthiness, tropical fruit and a rather dry/bitter finish.
