12oz bottle. Pours clear dark honey color with burnt orange hues. Aroma of rye, tangerine, pine, caramel. Flavor is spicy, rye, pine, molasses, citrus. This is a really awesome beer with spicy, bitter, and sweetness all in one.

Nose is sweet bread, dried apricot, peach rings. Flavor is same plus a pretty heavy rye kick, some grass, overripe mango.

Bottle. Deep copper hue, good clarity. A finger of frothy tan head deposits nice lacing. The nose: caramel, burnt sugar, rye bread, crust. Juicy hop character -- weed, guava, orange, pineapple. Rye adds an intriguing background note that’s almost musty. Big hops up front in the flavor. Resinous, with grapefruit, guava, pineapple, mango and grass. Finish has a toasted malt character that’s metallic and peppery. Fluffy medium body; moderate CO2; high bitterness. Tastes exactly like what you’d expect from reading the description.

Amber with a one finger head, some lacing, and a citrus, mild grapefruit nose. Smooth and malty intro with a medium body and a sweet, creamy, hoppy, grapefruit finish

Dark for an IPA but this beer has it all! Deep west coast hop aroma. Bitterness and rye spice that really makes this beer shine. I’ll drink lots more of this.

Draft at sb. Pours a murky very dark amber with rubied edges. Loose creamy tan head. Decent lace. Big malty sweet nose, with heavy rye spice, vaguely reminds me of the nutty smell from a payday candy bar. Creamy thickish body. Rye spice, darkly toasted caramel, and candied toasted peanuts in the background on the mid palate. Long sweetish finish.

12 oz. bottle served in a shaker- poured a transparent copper color with brown tint, 3mm white head that laced extremely well upon the vessel. Aroma of deep woods pine (different from regular pine- trust me), rye, and grapefruit. Hits the mouth with a wide body, malt was just soaked in caramel but it comes out in the end because hops kick in the door in the middle, finish is actually somewhat drying, yet sharply acidic from said hop barrage. Very nice brew.

Bottle, shared at the lake with Parksy and others on May long weekend. Pours a surprisingly dark burnt orange, with a frothy lasting white head. Big ruby grapefruit hop character, some pine, sweet malts, very bitter finish. I’d be lying yo say that I can pick up any rye character, but that’s not a criticism. A really great imperial red ale.

Green flash knows their IPA, and this one is no exception, pours thick with and has an elaborate cream head. Aroma is hard floral bitter, touch of caramel. Slightly husky but not overly negative. Hop bitter is strong but evens out nicely. High abv but it hides, drink carefully ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bottle- Pours dark orange to brown with a large off white head and nice lace. Aroma is bready rye malts, sweet malt, citrusy hops, pepper spice. The taste is strong in the rye, hops as well, decent amount of bitterness, citrusy, malt well balanced. I’ve always enjoyed rye IPA’s and this one is no exception, nice beer.
