Our Summer Saison is a delicious golden farmhouse ale, brewed with orange peel, ginger, and grains of paradise. A very refreshing, Belgian-inspired summer ale.

Floback (547) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - MAR 10, 2013
Bottle from Total WIne. Pours golden with a thumbnail of fizzy white head. Odor of crisp apples and subtle soapy yeast. The flavor is creamy wheat up front with a zesty, spicy underlying mouthfeel of herbs, lemon peel, white grape and citrus. Medium/high carbonation and light/medium body. Very light and refreshing, but also interesting to drink. Good brew and a nice example of the style.

Bottle from Ølhandleriet, Mathallen, enjoyed at home
Golden yellow hazy, big frothy head. Smells of spices, yeast esters, light malts, light hops and a touch of bakers yeast. Moderate sweet, light malt profile with alot of fruity yeast , peppers and other spices, some cardemomme in the back. Moderate bitter finish with a earthy touch. Fantastic mouthfeel, the pricky lively carbonation suits the saison style quite well. A very nice low abv saison with high drinkability qualities

Lagerboy (1738) - British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 5, 2013
Mostly clear dull yellow, rocky white head settles and fades. Fruity spicy yeasty aroma. Light Belgian fruity yeasty taste, easy doughy malts, lightly spiced, some clove, coriander and ginger notes. Average carbonation, light bodied, low hopped. Sours a bit as it warms, finishes earthy, dirty and musty. Blah! Started out okay, what happened? LBW (Lagerboy Be Wary)

Bottle. Pours with big white head and smells of sweet citrus fruit. Tastes fairly thin and doesn't have much of a flavor profile. Kind of bummed with this one because I love the green flash barleywine ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ Brewdog Edinburgh. Pours golden with a nice head. The nose has the expected farmyard and green hoppy/apple notes. There’s more of the same on the taste. So, it’s typical saison but perhaps it’s a little low on alcohol to have the balance I’d prefer. I think the sour yeast and bitter hops combination is a little too much. It could do with just a little sweetness. Overall, solid but not one I’ll choose to have again.
