COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Summer Saison is a delicious golden farmhouse ale, brewed with orange peel, ginger, and grains of paradise. A very refreshing, Belgian-inspired summer ale.

Bomber bottle and served in Duvel snifter: Pours a clean straw golden hue with a lasting effervescent head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of Chamomile, ginger ale, orange zest, light Grains of Paradise, pale grain, bubblegum yeast esters and a hint of woody earthy vapours. The taste is actually only moderately spicy and fruity but you can find the pale malt and wheat along with some light bitterness on the finish. To be clear, you still can notice the ginger and G.o.P. enough but they are more an ascent than the main flavoring component. As this warms a light tartness starts to appear but nothing distracting. I actually like that. The mouth feel is lively and refreshing but I would note some chalky wheat husk notes that knocks it down a tad. Overall a good enough Saison I would drink again... if I can not find the ones I like more.

Bottle, shared april 5th 2013. I love being positively surprised and today this beer surprised me by being a lot better than what I’d heard. After rescuing most of the bottle due to the beer being a gusher, an inviting hazy yellow body with a good sized white head, holding an aroma of yeasty funk, lemon and wheat does a good impression on me. Taste is fruity and refreshing, lemon and yeast, with a dry palate, crisp malt and ginger. Good body for a 4,5, lasting refreshing spicy and dry aftertaste. Could have several of this one.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Very refreshing and easy to drink. Good mouthfeel. Citrus, pear, yeast, some spice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at ncbc. Pours a slightly hazy pale gold with a loose white head. Smells a little barnyardy at first but then goes over to grassy. Odd. Creamy medium body with soft carb, maybe a little flabby. Corn on the mid palate. Not a very effective interpretation of a saison.

Sweet and a little floral aroma with a golden color and small white head. Ooh. Nice. Little dry pear taste with a zingy after feel. I would very much like to see more saisons from San Diego. I know hops is king down there but lets try something new. Green Flash did a good job. Would drink this with a burger by the beach.

12 ounce bottle. Yellow, opaque, white layer of residue on top. Grain and citrus in the aroma. Full, yeasty, bready, citrusy and peppery taste. heavy side of light bodied. Crisp and refreshing. Overall it seems pretty traditional, covering all the bases of an old farmhouse ale saison. Ok stuff.

A funky, yeasty, spent firework aroma. Fairly mild flavor; light body, minimal aftertaste. Average carbonation. No bitterness, very pleasing flavor. Nice; one of my favorite saison.

Pint at the Winking Lizard Grandview on 5/15/13. Clear yellow to gold in color with a thick white head. Funk and apricot nose with slight citrus and banana. Malty flavor with banana and funk and some herbal character before a sweet finish.
