COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex Double Stout.

Geur ok, heeft iets van frisse vis. Redelijk vol in de mond. Behoorlijk wat alcohol. Niet echt zoet met een ligte bitter aan het einde. Had er iets meer van verwacht. Maar is goed te drinken.

19.6.2014. Appearance is black with brown head. Aroma has plenty of roasted malts, some hops and warmth of alcohol, liquorice. Taste is malty bitter, not sweet, some chocolate. A bit thinner and simpler than expected/hoped. Texture is slightly oily. Slightly hoppy burnt stout.

Aroma is rich dark malts, caramel, rye, espresso, coffee and light earthiness. Taste is an almost chewy mouthfeel and balanced very well with a nice earthy and clove bitterness. Appearance is a dark brown with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

Bottle. Pitch blacj with big, light brownish, densed head. Medium lasting. Average lacing. The nice aromas of roasted malts - dark, bitter chocolate and coffee. Also you can experience nice touch of toffee and earthy notes. Taste is medium bitter, toffee, chocolate with some liquorice and vanilla. In general taste is semi-sweet. Full body, oily and velvety texture, soft carbonation. Finish is coffe, semi-sweet and bitter. Little alcohol warming. In general very enjoyable and drinkable RIS.

Black brown with a slight reddish tint. Almost no head. Strong notes of chocolate, coffee, caramel, earthy. Quite sweet, some bitterness. Upfront alcohol, pretty heavy body, some acidity, almost no carbonation. Long dry finish. Good.

Straightforward full bodied Imperial Stout with malts the focus. No over the top bitterness, bourbon, or quirky West Coast additions. Old World indeed.

Poured a deep black with a very nice, lacy head. A bit thin in the mouth but the alcohol well hidden.

330ml bottle from Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours deep black with thin foamy tan head. Aroma is medicinal molasses. Taste is much of the same with additional liquorice and, as such, is not really my kinda stout. Smooth mouthfeel and does grow on me after a while, but essentially not my cup of tea.

Black oily pour. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, vanilla, caramel and roasted malts. Taste is chocolate, caramel and malts. Velvety and smooth. Well built stout. Very enjoyable. Not overwhelming with alcohol which made it easy to drink.
