3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy dark copperish amber with a foamy light beige head. The nose has some light chocolate grains and a slightly herbal Belgian doughy yeast. Flavor is nice and full though on a medium palate. Playful notes of chewy chocolate malts play with a light Belgian pale fruitiness like banana and pear esters, on a doughy off-sweet finish.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a brown-amber color with a thin off-white head. Aroma of bubble gum, cloves, banana, and sugary sweetness, with a hint of toasty malts. Flavors were similar, pretty straightforward belgian brown ale stuff: more banana and bubble gum, cloves, generic "spiciness", sweet candy sugar and roasty toasty caramel malts. A slight hint of bitterness, more evident in the finish. Light body, very easy to drink this stuff. Awesome "lighter" Belgian ale.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at brewery. Pours light brown with a thin khaki head. Not a ton of expression on the nose. It’s got lots of that Belgian yeast thing on the tongue. It doesn’t taste much like a brown ale but its tasty nonetheless.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500mL at a tasting. Pours a light golden, hefty Brett carbonation and rocky, hop oil foam. Nose is Brett, Rayon Very style cedar and perfume, mildly chemical/sharp phenolic. Taste is woody cedar, spicy, juicy yellow fruits. Palate is spicy, dry, aerated, refreshing. Balancing hop bite. Good stuff, I’m told it is the prototype for Rayon Vert.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at The Birch. Dark brown pour with a short tan head. Nose is nutty, fruity and slightly yeasty with caramel, toasted malt and dark bready notes. Taste is soft fruit, nutty, Belgian yeast, toasted dark bread, sweet malt, caramel notes and soft hops. Medium bodied and slightly chewy with a dense bubbly carbonation. Ends with more nutty flavors, Belgian yeast, soft fruit, toasted malt and dark bread. I’m thinking there may be different styles of Treasure Chest as some early reviews mention golden ales. This is certainly a brown and as I recall, 5.7% ABV.
