Commercial Description:
Rich pale malt flavors provide a solid base for zesty Styrian Golding and Czech Saaz hopping. Trappist ale yeast contributes the fruity, spicy profile of classic, monk-brewed, Belgian ales. Our Trippel is luscious, fiery, golden brew and a contemporary rendition of traditional Belgian Trippel.

(bottle): Pours a golden fizzy body, somewhat opaque. Creamy off-white head, fine bubbles, lastingish. Belgiany flowery sweet taste. Some spiciness, maybe clove, or corriander? Spicy taste, floral, somewhat sour. More sour as it warms. A little too sweet as it warms up. Soft mouthfeel, somewhat bitter hoppy.

Aroma is pleasant. Hints of banana over the maltiness, quite good, but a twinge of alcohol. Appearance is decent, a bit cloudy on the second pour, but is to be expected. Flavor is initially great, but the sweetness tends to wear on you a bit as you continue drinking. Has the alcohol warmness of an 8.5%, but isn’t overpowering, like other lesser Trippels. The banana comes out a bit with what almost tastes like peach. Palate is good, especially for the style. A bit heavy, but creamy. Nice. Overall, quite a good trippel. I like the fruity hint, and the added alcohol iisn’t off-putting as it typicaly is for the style. Nice stuff, again, Green Flash.

Cloudy copper color with a tall white head. Aroma of spice, fruit, and yeast. Yeast, spice, alcohol, and fruit dominate the taste. Very nice.

In short: A bland Tripel. Too sweet, overripe fruits, not much else
How: Tap at Hop Devil NYC
The look: Cloudy orange body topped by a very small off-white head
In long: Sweet on the malt side and not enough hops to balance it out. Crunchy sweetness with a sugary honeyed pie crust sensation, notes of decaying fruits (bananas, tangerines, apricots and more), yeasty. Overall rather crisp despite the overripe fruits taste. Totally lacking hops. No bitterness, no dryness. Sweetness and overripe fruits flavour all the way through. It’s a love/hate thing I have with Green Flash, I either really love their beers or I’m totally annoyed them. Nothing in-between so far. That brewery brings me through so many ups and downs that I have to blow my ears when I drink their beers.

Pours a hazy orange from the bomber with a trim white head. Mild yeast, citrus, and alcohol on the nose with a an almost dreamsicle flavor. Very dry cotton aftertaste, which hampered the experience for me.

Pours a hazy orange with a thin but lasting head with great lacing. Lovely spicy and inviting aroma with a hint of sweet tangerine. Tastes great - nice and spicy with a thick malty backbone essential for this type of beer, definitely notes of orange and pepper, a touch of coriander with a good resinous bitterness. Excellent carbonation and a chewy, thick body. I really enjoyed this one!

22 oz. bottle poured into trappist glass- poured a slightly cloudy copper orange, low carbonation, whisps of white on top of the liquid surface for a head, some lacing. Aroma of yeast, oranges, and coriander. Hits the mouth with a low-medium body, malt seems to get lost a little in the commotion of various spices in the middle, finish is warming and acidic.

650 ml. Orange-shiny copper with a half-inch of lasting foam that leaves nice frosting behind. Spicy resin, wood and fruit gum aroma. Tastes of oak, apple brandy, peppery orange peel, spicy yeast and paraffin wax. Finish is woody citrus, resiny bubblegum and alcohol. Light-medium body starts smooth but has flare-ups of carbonation later; has some nice warming, and is soft and dry. Fairly peppery with hops that seem to make the alcohol much more evident, but otherwise good.
