drjay44 (758), Salida, Colorado, USA Jul 17, 2008 Pleasant golden color, nice creamy head, complex spicy aroma, great complex flavor sweet spicy and bitter finish, lovely mouthfeel. It seems a little bitter for the style, ? "west coast", but at $4.99 for a bomber ( at Applejack) it is a great bargin. Brigadier (1220), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA Jul 15, 2008 22 oz bottle
Now that Green Flash has hit the borders of Ohio I have been looking forward to trying some of their products. Currently sitting on this as well as the imperial IPA and imperial stouts I opted for a change of pace first. This was a solid American made interpretation of the trippel style. When a new shipment makes it eastward I am likely to pick up another one. While not a steal it is still a great value if you can find it for $6.99 or less.
Aroma / Appearance - A turbulent frothy beige head was absorbed into the butterscotch colored body. The nose was very sweet with a combination of Wurther’s hard candy, peach, citrus and orange scones melding with the alcohol, waxy chocolate and vanilla beans to create a complicated aroma.
Flavor / Palate - The first sip immediately rewarded the palate with semisweet chocolate flakes, peanut butter brittle and ginger. A spicy transition left citrus on the tongue before turning into molasses. The final stage was a nice vinous finish that dried out the throat. Deceptively easy to drink it was not long before the bomber was totally empty. This was a great value and solid release that sets the bar high for the rest of their line. Pours a nice hazy deep gold with nice off-white head. Aroma Of bannana, pepper, and faint clove. Flavor has a nice fruit taste along with some bannana, pepper, alcohol, clove. Mouthfeel is full body with medium carbonation. Overall a pretty good belgian style beer. Tmoney99 (4656), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 13, 2008 Bottle from Belmont Party. Poured hazy orange color with an average frothy white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Complex spicy fruit and yeasty aroma. Medium to heavy body with a smooth sticky texture. Medium citrus balanced flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to moderate duration with a small alcohol bite. This is a refreshing standout beer. ericandersnavy (1039), crossroads, Texas, USA Jul 13, 2008 bottle thanks to swalden 28. poured a hazy light gold with off white head and excellent retention. aroma was banana, citrus, and spice. flavor was much the same as the aroma. this was my first tripel and i enjoyed it. this is one that i can say that i am glad i tried. Beerman6686 (1266), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 12, 2008 Poured a nice golden color with a fluffy white head. Aroma was very sweet, not too spicey. Flavor was nice and sweet, almost too much. aplusbreaks (330), , Colorado, USA Jun 29, 2008 pours a golden/amber haze with a small dense white head, which turns into more of a ring than a head. Aroma is sweet and slightly yeasty. Good flavors, typical belgain style yeasts coming through and some nice spice. Finish kind of leaves something funky in the back of your mouth. BMan1113VR (2757), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Jun 28, 2008 On tap at Stone. Pours with a light, white head covering a golden body. Rich, spicey and yeasty aroma (clove and coriander are at the forefront). Taste is sweet and a bit fruity. Dry mouthfeel, and to style, lively carbonation.
