Mar 30, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Pours a clear dark golden/light amber color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is fruity, citrus, Belgian yeast, hay, and a spicy edge. The flavor is again fruity and citrusy. I also get a honey bread sensation with this. No alcohol to speak of which at 8.5% could be problematic. Medium bodied. Decent.

Pours a rich golden to amber color with a light white head.
Smell is rich, bold and malty with a strong sweetness and lemony characteristic. Taste is well hopped to balance the maltiness. Somewhat dry, at the same time, however. Interesting spiced character too. Not bad at all, and I can feel the style growing on me.

Mar 19, 2008 This dark golden ale poured with a modest beige head and a floral aroma. There is a nice balance of malt and hops that produces a flavor that is initially sweet but finishes slightly bitter.

Mar 17, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy orangey-yellow with a thin, white head. Nice yeasty aroma of baked goods, with hints of citrus fruits and sweet spices. Very sweet taste, of light hops and malt, and a bit of an alcohol bite. Very pleasant and tasty.

Mar 14, 2008 Bottle from Nugget in Davis, CA. Poured a hazy golden color and a smelled of fruits and spices. Malty sweetness combined with the perfect amount of hops makes this an outstanding brew.

Mar 13, 2008 22 oz bottle. Light golden brew. Slightly hazy with a thick white head. Aroma is lightly spicy with some notable noble floral hops. Lightly clovey and peppery with a kiss of light apricot. The yeast is nicely restrained which is good to see. Fairly rich lean malts, a bit of yeasty breadiness as well. I can’t say that it’s great but it is appropriately dry with a nice herbal hoppiness and a hint of banana and apricot as well as loads of bubblegum. As it warms a bit of mintiness picks up. It’s a pretty decent take on the style.

Mar 12, 2008 Bottle from Nugget in Davis. This beer really had the spirit of a Belgian brew, despite being from California. I’m continually impressed with Green Flash, and this is no exception. They took excellent care to limit the aftertaste on this brew, while preserving the malty, dark fruit taste of a classic Tripel.
