drfabulous (1206), Columbia, Missouri, USA Dec 8, 2007 Very nice, fairly sweet tripel. All the right tastes one expects and that nice golden color. Strong fruit flavor. Another excellent Green Flash. Boutip (2327), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Oct 31, 2007 Bottle courtesy of SS: Poured a deep golden/orangey color ale with a huge foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of spicy yeast, light peaches and some sweet malt. Taste is also dominated by some spicy notes with some refreshing peachy taste and some quite big and sweet malt notes. Great carbonation with a medium to full body and some light alcoholic notes. Very well done overall and something I wouldn’t mind trying again. after4ever (2699), Brier, Washington, USA Oct 21, 2007 22. Thanks, Footy! This is a dandy little underrated beer. This is technically the 3rd Anniversary version, or at least so labelled. Maybe it has some age on it? Pours cloudy coppery medium amber with a thin, patchy white head. Mild nose of sweat and peppery hop. Medium body, plenty of fizzy carb, and nice bright lemony flavors along with some grass and pepper. Nice medium peppery hop finish. Really solid stuff. brianjames1 (322), Northridge, California, USA Oct 15, 2007 On tap at Green Flash Brewery. Light yellow in color with small white head. Very spicy aroma and taste. Belgian style brew which i am not a big fan of but overall an ok brew. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA Oct 14, 2007 Highly filtered, dainty orange body. Small frothy head. Mild aroma - some floral notes and yeast. The flavor is fruity and musty. There’s something like sweet-n-low in there too - it just doesn’t taste quite right to me. Bitter finish. notalush (2620), Denver, Colorado, USA Oct 14, 2007 I’ve had this one sitting around for a while - I figured I’d try it given its recent GABF medal - clear gold with small, suspended flecks - frothy, lasting head - aroma of honey, vanilla, floral notes, some medicinal alcohol and sweetness - a bit thin, and the slightest bit artificial-tasting - weak spiciness, light belgian yeast fruitiness, strong, out of place hoppiness - sticky sweetness in the background couples strangely with the alcohol presence to remind one of the somewhat medicinal quality of the aroma - silver medal my ass. carl4beer (391), Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA Oct 12, 2007 pours golden and hazy with a nice white head.aroma is sweet, yeast, and spices. mouthful is pleasant with a spicy front with a quick finish that is a little bitter. a little boring for a tripel. cathcacr (584), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 5, 2007 Meets expectations for the Trippel style, though apparently it’s Belgium proper that produces St. Bernie’s 12 and other mightiest examples of the style. But this is delicious. Smooth and creamy as it’s supposed to be. By meeting basic expectations for this most delicious of styles, it gets a 4.1..
