JonR888710 (999), Cochabamba, Bolivia Apr 8, 2007 Pours a hazy yellow with lots of yeast floaters and a creamy, fluffy head. Aroma is clove spice, banana and lemon. Taste is the same, strong flavor though. For me, I think this is a damn good Abbey for being brewed in the United States. It should actually be considered a new style as there is no way these new beers can compete with their pedigreed uncles from across the pond. Still I liked this one, including the yeast floaters and all. Sampled from a 650ml bottle. gputty (456), Virgina Beach, Virginia, USA Apr 8, 2007 From bomber. Pours orange hued with a thin white head and nice lacing. Spicy hops in the nose, followed by alcohol and light fruits. Flavor is a subdued combination of the hops and alcohol. Could use a little more fleshing out. beerslayer (753), New Jersey, USA Mar 31, 2007 Not an Bad Abbey Triple. Hoppy, herbal, and fruity flavors. Finishes thick, and chewy. DrBayern (1135), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Mar 25, 2007 12 oz. bottle on 3/18/07 in Colorado. This poured a hazy gold with a soap bubble white head that persisted well. Light fruity aroma with some yeast notes thrown in. Medium body and a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Overall, the flavor favors sweetness from light fruits, but there is enough balance from some spicy hops. Not bad at all. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 22, 2007 bottle sampled with stegosaurus. Pours a dark golden color with a slightly off white head. Aroma of light fruit, citrus and a hint of spices. Flavor of sweet malt, bananas, and spice with a hop bitterness in the finish .A decent brew waolsen (1220), Littleton, Colorado, USA Mar 21, 2007 bottle. hazy dark orange iwth rising bubbles to white head. toffee, yeast, sweet apricot, spice aroma. lively and fruity. sweet fruit dominates and hits with tartness that mellows to a sugary bitter finish. Big malt body. balance is off and flavors aren’t pure. I was expecting better. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 11, 2007 Pours a clear bright golden with thin-lacing wispy white head. Sweet honey and mild acetone aroma. Sweet floral malty and Belgian yeasty flavor has a warming, drier finish. Needs more balance, but is a nice attempt at the style. MullMan (1080), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA Mar 10, 2007 clear light orangey-amber color, with a short creamy off-white blanket of head. aroma is lemony, orange, and pear with a bit of white pepper, some candi sugar malt and a bit of yeast. flavor is malty sweet with candi sugar, faint banana, a bit of single-malt scotch, and yeasty (although the body is clear?) fruity flavor is much fainter than the aroma which was a little dissapointing. hoppy, peppery and yeasty in the finish.
