Commercial Description:
Rich pale malt flavors provide a solid base for zesty Styrian Golding and Czech Saaz hopping. Trappist ale yeast contributes the fruity, spicy profile of classic, monk-brewed, Belgian ales. Our Trippel is luscious, fiery, golden brew and a contemporary rendition of traditional Belgian Trippel.

Pours a clear bright golden with thin-lacing wispy white head. Sweet honey and mild acetone aroma. Sweet floral malty and Belgian yeasty flavor has a warming, drier finish. Needs more balance, but is a nice attempt at the style.

clear light orangey-amber color, with a short creamy off-white blanket of head. aroma is lemony, orange, and pear with a bit of white pepper, some candi sugar malt and a bit of yeast. flavor is malty sweet with candi sugar, faint banana, a bit of single-malt scotch, and yeasty (although the body is clear?) fruity flavor is much fainter than the aroma which was a little dissapointing. hoppy, peppery and yeasty in the finish.

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours opague orange\golden with a small white head. Aroma of fruit, belgian yeast, and spices. The flavor is sweet, fruit, and mildly hoppy in the finish. Thin body, but a good brew.

Slightly cloudy straw color on the pour. Big slightly off white, frothy head. Aroma is fruity, with slight spice. Flavor is sweet fruit with spice, yeast and a slightly hoppy/alcohol finish.

A gorgeous cloudy tan body with a large rocky tan head portend a quality brew. Aroma is floral and raisiny with a dab of honey, and flavor much the same with an ample sugary sweetness balanced with a slightly bitter finish that only shows its face in swallow, just as the sweetness is about the get cloying. Thoroughly "Belgian" in delivery, you would not know this was an American beer in a blind taste test. The alcohol content is apparent, but never overbearing. A high quality interpretation. This would go well with a strongly flavored chicken dish; mustard chicken perhaps?

Beer pours up the appropriate apricot color with a big, almost Belgian sized, egg white head that is nicely retained. Aroma is impressive, with subtle notes of pear, nice earthy yeastiness and spices. Flavor is initially lightly sweet then there is a big yeast kick that I really like. Also, a significant spicy hop kick in the end that is indeed unusual for the style, but that I personally like. Doesn’t follow strict Tripel style guidlines, but rated on its own merit, I like.

Pouyrs copper with a white head. Smells of pepper, oranges and spicy. Tastes of cookies, sugar, pepper. Finishes of oranges. Very unusual for a tripel.

Orange-tinted amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma has a peanut note that I often find in Abbey Dubbels and don’t particularly care for. Also has notes of cooked banana and caramelization. Flavor is of toasted grain, honey, roasted nuts, and a hint of cocoa with medium sweet esters. Disappointing. Add one more to a growing list of less than stellar American tripels.
